One of the best meals I've had in a while. Haven't been in years and it didn't disappoint. Keep doing what you do!

We normally sit at the bar, but have brought friends and family to sit at a table took the food is delicious. Love the steak tips, but their sandwiches are great too. They have the best salmon burger I’ve had in a while. They have a good craft beer menu too, and even offered Heady Topper, but their beer list doesn’t change much otherwise. Really cool historic building that is interesting to learn the history behind.

The best wine slushy I have had! The live entertainment outdoors was nice, but it took awhile to get a place to sit, bit over all it was nice. Also they have an area for kids to play!

As a member of the Boston Vegetarian Society and a vegan for over three decades, I was delighted to discover delicious vegan options on the menu at the Sun Tavern. The culinary standout, smoked tofu, surpassed expectations with its extraordinary flavors and textures, while my wife Meg's pasta dish presented a delicate balance of hearty and fresh locally grown ingredients. Celebrating our 44th anniversary in such a charming ambiance was a true treat. The Sun Tavern’s commitment to delivering satisfying and robust vegan cuisine positions it among the finest dining experiences in the South Shore area, ensuring it takes a well-deserved place on the vegan-friendly epicurean map. We were thrilled to have Sasha as our server. She knows the menu, both food and wine, has a great manner and is so kind. Another couple was there and told her, “we had you last year and are thrilled to see you again.”
I wish she was there more often.
The Sun Tavern is one of our favorite places to eat in Duxbury.

Wanted to love this place, but inconsistencies make it difficult. Dinner for 2 w/ a 7pm reservation (after their admitted 5-7 rush) should permit a decent table, but no: we were seated at last table near unisex bathroom & kitchen. Two nearby tables remained empty until we left at 9pm after 2 martinis, 3 courses ea & 1 good priced btl of malbec. We'll prob return to eat at the bar & try lower priced food, but I do understand some of the negative reviews.

This is a wonderful spot for dinner. The menu is varied and well represented. The wine list is expansive enough to give you strong offerings. The service was outstanding. While we did not sit at the bar, it looked like a great place to sit and enjoy a cocktail. The food was great and the pricing was reasonable for the entire experience. A great spot!

My wife, daughter and her boyfriend and I went to the Sun Tavern yesterday to celebrate Mothers’ Day. We had a 5 o’clock reservation and were seated immediately. Our waitress, Terri approached our table and i after we ordered drinks asked our daughter and her boyfriend for IDs. They were taken aback as she is 36 and he is 37, but the waitress insisted, and not very politely. Although service was efficient, though the wrong side accompaniment for my order was wrong, I cannot say that we were treated graciously, as we had been many times in the past. Disappointing to say the least.

Local tavern food is nothing special but good. Bar service was great...there was a line at the door at 5p on a Saturday when they open. Cool old tavern from 1700s

A few weeks ago my husband and I arrived for an early dinner just as they were opening. We were seated "across from the grille". I guess being seated across from a non-descript ell in the kitchen in a really ugly room is "the grille". Not sure why since they had just opened and the place was practically empty. The table wobbled thru the entire meal even after the server tried to level it. This time we ate at the tiny (but very cozy) bar. We really want to like this place but the food is only so-so. Undercooked fish. Bland flavors. Nothing that would make us want to come back for a third meal. What a shame.
