always wanted to go to downeast brewery and it was really nice to sit, sip on ciders, and talk.

Absolutely LOVE it here. I take a road trip down from NH to the Cider house roughly every other month to stock up on flavors that I can't find in NH.This trip was awesome as I was chatting with the ever sweet and super personable Rasheen who is the manager there. She is incredibly nice and we love hanging and chatting with her about new flavors coming out and what may be discontinued. I get so happy after a 2 hour drive to see that she's working, it makes the long ride all worthwhile.See you soon Rasheen, thank you for everything!

Close to the airport and a great stop to go if you have a long layover. The line to get in is long but maybe I just went on an off day.

I don't think I can recommend a visit to the cider house itself - the cider is great, but served at a lot of Boston businesses and easy to get a hold of in liquor stores (at least locally). The tasting room itself was small and only held about 10 tables of 4. They don't have a full liquor license so you can only get one flight per adult then you have to leave...not like any other tasting room I've been to. Staff was friendly and made some good recommendations but this wasn't a fun elongated experience...we were in and out in an hour. Since it took us 45 minutes to get there I can't say it was worth it for us. Love the cider but I'm gonna skip the tasting room in the future.

Visited Downeast Cider House in East Boston with friends in October. The warehouse ambiance, adorned with beer cans like a metallic tapestry, caught my eye right away.Despite the limited tables, we snagged one within minutes. The ciders on tap offered a mix of Downeast's classics and seasonal delights, providing a journey through their apple-infused creations.Pro tip: You're limited to one flight per person, but fear not. We migrated to the beer garden, sipped on cider by the water, and engaged in a heated Jenga battle. The view of the Boston skyline was the perfect backdrop, especially with the weather playing nice on the day we visited. So, if you're up for a scenic cider-sipping session with friends, this East Boston gem is the place to be. Cheers to Downeast!

Amazing what they've done in the past 9 years in such a small space and making even more improvements with automation.

I'm a fan of Downeast ciders, it's my go to when I'm looking for a cider at my local liquor store so I was excited to stop by their cider house. It is part of their factory so it's a bit small and rustic with all their equipment in the background. They only allow one flight of cider per person, which was a bit pricey at about $15 each. They had a bunch of fun flavors to try that you could take home in growlers or canned 4 packs. On a Saturday afternoon it surprisingly wasn't busy and we were seated right away. I'd go back because I love their ciders but I do wish the cider house had a better ambiance

Where to begin….I seriously have PTSD from this experience and only wish it on my worst enemies. After hitching the soaking wet blue line there, we arrived on a Saturday around 2pm to find a line we have to wait in. A line is fine but not when it’s pouring rain outside and there was no overhead cover for guests (there was at least 15 ppl in line) and we were soaking wet. We asked if we could wait inside and they said no (although they had plently of room inside to wait). Also note that there is nowhere nearby to head for cover. So you’re dedicated and on your own when u head here.Once we got a table inside - it was a whole different type of disaster. You can only order ONE drink per person - choose from either a flight or a quarter pour. That’s all folks. Imagine commuting out of your way to a destination, getting SOAKED in the rain for nearly an hour, then you can only get ONE drink. You also don’t get Table service - so if you order a flight of ciders you have to nagivate holding the shot platter through the tables to your spot. Which can be iffy depending where they seat you. Also no food available!!End of the day - lessons learned. It’s not fun. Pick up a pack of ciders from ur local liquor store and stay home!!

Insane prices. These guys are the only cider house that I have ever been to that charges $15 for a pint. That is just ridiculous! You can buy a four pack of 16oz can of theirs at your local packie for 14 bucks. Totally not worth doing to the tap room unless you like being taken advantage of...

Go for: You want the cider straight from the source in a cool old harborside neighborhood, and you want to literally smell the cider fermentation as it's happening.Avoid if: You're looking for more than a flight of small cider pours (limited to around a pint of cider total).Something surprising: They ferment, filter, can, and ship everything on site, and you get to see the whole craft cidery in all its glory.Reservation needed? No, unless you're bringing a large group.Overall . The unfiltered hard cider from Downeast is delicious, but you can only get a single flight with small pours, and then you have to leave. It'd be great if they expanded their hours, increased the drink limit, and had food trucks year-round.Value for Price: 3Sanitation: 3Food Quality: N/AMenu Precision: N/AService Quality: 3Timing: 5Decor: 4Access: 2—5 among the best4 strong3 not too bad2 mediocre1 never again

I started my afternoon in the taproom to get a hard cider flight. I had to wait outside for about 10 minutes for a table to open up in the taproom. Once inside I ordered my hard cider flight at the counter where it was poured and served right away. My flight was blueberry, blackberry, pumpkin, and cider donut flavors. All were delicious. It was a very cool experience inside. Afterward, we walked across the parking lot to the pop-up garden. There I got a full pour of the strawberry hard cider and I got to stand outside overlooking the water. The two destinations together made for a great fall afternoon!

This is a review for the outdoor pop up in east Boston located across from the cider house itself--super fun, great vibes/music, incredible views of the Boston skyline and tasty cider! Bring an extra layer in the fall/spring as it can get a little windy. Restrooms are outhouses. No food available for purchase. Love downeast and their ciders and will be back many many times!

Dog friendly inside area! Loved trying the ciders they had on rotation. It was a bit hard to find but was in a warehouse! It was a bit chilly but we enjoyed it! My favorite was the cider donut! They have flavors for everyone! My boyfriend who doesn't like ciders even enjoyed all the flavors! Fun date idea to go and try! Definitely will be back!

Surprisingly great flavors. I love drinking something and tasting what it's named for. I also like sweeter ciders and all the ciders in my flight checked the box for me!
