Was back East for a visit googled places to eat, this place popped up, asked counter guy(Nick) what he recommended... The fish wrap was amazing.

I’m from out of town and a friend who used to be local has been talking up this place for a year since they found out I’d be in the area. To honor their recommendation, I took the three train pilgrimage from Cambridge and walked the 7 minutes from the train station to Royal’s. Suffice to say, expectations or lofty.
Fortunately (for me and my friend’s sake), expectations were met and passed. I ordered the super beef, 3-way platter. The sandwich was plentiful, delicious, and fresh, and so were the fries. If given the opportunity, I will definitely visit again.

Royal's is an institution in East Boston. For over 15 years I have been a customer except for those 3 or 4 years when I was on a diet... oh well! The food is good. The roast beef is consistent. Portions are generous. Prices are very reasonable. Sure, there are a few menu items I wish they carried... eh hem, chocolate frappes. The service has truly impressed me over the years. Tonight, I placed an order for a tasty dinner for me and my wife. Usually the preparation and delivery are unbelievably fast, like 15 minutes from order to my door! This time nearly an hour had passed but still no food, so I called. Well, it turned out I accidentally selected Pick Up! Holy cow! But guess what, the nice guy on the phone was completely cool and not only are they remaking my fries, but they are sending the delivery order right away. Just so refreshing these days to receive some basic decency, some genuinely understanding friendly consideration and unexpected good service. So, thanks, Royal's. Thanks for filling our bellies all these years and thanks for the genuinely good and kind service!

Came for a wedding in the area as a visitor a couple weeks ago. Came with my young kids, and on a hot tiring day.

Kind staff. Generous, helpful, friendly, authentic. Food was great, cooked fresh, and what you’d expect from a good diner style meal by the beach.

If you’re unsure but like the menu, just go. Nowadays you must recognize you are not just buying things, you are voting with your dollar about which business deserves to thrive and represent your community. This place does and you will not regret when you go.
