Tonight was my 10th anniversary with my wife. We called the Tavern a few days ahead to make a reservation for 2 in the windows for sunset at 6:30. When we arrived, there were no window seats left and I was sad to see us placed behind an elderly couples fantastic dinner and view. I was determined to make the most of things and resolved to enjoy myself despite the first hiccup. We ordered some drinks and apps, the Moink balls as some fried brussel sprouts. The sprouts were completely burnt. Again I said nothing… except having to mention that we never got any silverware or napkins, which did eventually show up.
Now the hard part, we ordered food. Mine was a special and my wife ordered the tortellini. After about 15/20 minutes a server came up to our table and informed me that I cannot have mashed potatoes because only people who got the fish can have those. So I got French fries as a substitute. Fast forward another 45/50 minutes when I’m about to leave without having gotten my drinks refilled or any entree. It finally arrived. My wife’s plate looks ok, and mine as described, though there’s literally 6 French fries on the plate. The server said she’d bring more later with the drinks, never happened. I asked for ketchup, never got it. Ordered another drink, never came.
All in all our reservation was given away, I wasn’t allowed to have the food I ordered, we waited over an hour for approximately 65% of our meal to ever make it to table. Drinks never came.

It's about timing and table here. I am an outside bar guy but can be tough to get a seat depending on when you arrive. Moinkballs, Gorgonzola bread, pulled pork or brisket; cleanse with a cold local craft beer. Set back and watch the Killer Sunset with a backdrop of mountains. Another fav of mine along with Shelburne falls apple orchard sunrises. Great food, great view.Enjoy! Peace & Prosperity!

We got there a Saturday at 5pm. There was a line to get in. After that we waited fairly an hour to get seated and another hour to actually eat something. We were only two people, not like we had a big party. We had the pulled pork and honestly I would never ever wait that long for that again. I think I'm not returning there.

Outstanding barbecue! The brisket was so amazingly tender and tasty with a heavenly bit fat that made it perfect. Slabs of juicy mouth watering meat you hardly have to chew. Every side they offer is special. Excellent creamy crunchy Cole slaw, Mac n’ cheese made with Cheddar, smooth and delectable, Pit beans tangy, sweet, rich flavor, impossibly good. Mexican street corn salad! I love it! My advice to you: Make reservations, go early get a drink and anticipate a wonderful barbecue dinner.

My wife and I were given the privilege eating here for the first time tonight and were blown away by the service and quality of this establishment. You know the saying you get what you pay for well that was the case tonight, if you are looking for quality and quantity in terms of barbecue it was nothing short of spectacular. We will be planning multiple date nights a month to this wonderful restaurant that has been and will be a staple in my opinion.

The meats were very good. Seasoned well. Ribs were juicy and had a nice smoky flavor. Same with the wings. The 3 different bbq sauces and the honey garlic buffalo were all solid. The Mac and the slaw were both good. I gave 3/5 for service bc I ordered to go and had to wait 20 mins past the suggested pick up time. It’s fine, I understand you’re busy but I find my time valuable as well. I’d recommend to anybody who was local. This is good bbq, but just be prepared to wait. The staff were friendly, plenty of free parking and I did notice they have a beautiful view of the sunset from the outside deck.

Arrived promptly for 6:45 reservations. Drink order took 20 minutes. After another 15 minutes we had to flag down our server to place our food order. It’s now 7:20. Our food arrived at 8:20. A couple next to us arrived after us, ate, paid and departed while we were still waiting. We were offered cornbread due to the long wait, and were offered free dessert after dinner, which we declined. We left at 9pm after dinner and 1 drink. We think the waitress took our drink order, forgot to put it in, forgot to take our food order until we flagged her down, and then forgot to put that in. She did claim our wait was “partially” her fault, but who knows what happened? She was otherwise pleasant and apologetic. Very bizarre for a bbq place that generally has food cooked well ahead of time, heated prepped and ready to go. ????

Some of the best BBQ around apart from Theodore's Blues, Booze & BBQ in Springfield, but this place has unique offerings/sides and still amazing BBQ. Plus, they have seating on the deck, which is perfect for the sunset views. Amazing & friendly staff all around! Come on down for a remarkable & memorable lunch or dinner.
