Based on my experience it's really only got the view going for it. BBQ and sides were serviceable but not great, none of the BBQ sauces were good(at least one had some really off flavors) and the kitchen is very slow, although our server was friendly and gracious. Atmosphere was nice. If the back of the house can get it together this could be a great place.

Food was delicious but waited over an hour for our entrees. Sat at the bar outside near the kitchen and heard kitchen staff scream at servers and sounded like dishes were being thrown. Then overheard waitstaff say they were afraid to go back there. No one should abuse coworkers like that no matter how good they can cook!

From the stunning views on the outdoor dining deck, to the fabulously delicious food and friendly, superb service, it was absolute perfection! I can't wait to return!
Had a reservation for 6. Waited 20 minutes to place our drink order, at which point, we found out that they have a Sunday menu (not mentioned on their website) that did not include any basic salads. Drinks finally arrived after another 20 minutes. Food came out over an hour after we sat down and was cold and not good all around. Fries way overcooked but also cold. Pulled pork was cold. The sad metal tray on which the should’ve-been-hot food was served was cold. Waitperson was inattentive,. Just a bad experience. I will not be going back. Lovely view wasted on a crappy restaurant.

My husband got the original dinner last. He got 4 little end piece spares rib. It was not worth the price this time.
Let me start by saying we have been here many times and enjoyed it! However this time may overshadow all those other time. We had a party of 4 and a child, some of whom had never been. We were seated at 7pm. Didn't receive our beverages for 20 minutes. Ordered our appetizers and meals at the same time. Apps came another 30 mins later. Our Main courses came out 1.5hrs after we were seated and they were warm at best. Our server only showed up when necessary and never apologized or explained the wait. I've seen the restaurant much busier so I'm unsure of the problem but a truly disappointing visit all around. And after this review and response, I did email the restaraunt and noone got back to me. Even more disappointing!!

Every time I’m in town, this has always been the best place to come to with delicious dining options without having to drive to Northampton for finer dining that isn’t commercialized . Tavern On the Hill was excellent prior to recently changing the menu and now only serving BBQ. When we walked in, the staff was not as attentive or welcoming and it was all young kids who lacked hospitality skills. We were seated in the lower dining area for roughly 10 minutes without being acknowledged and it wasn’t busy. After being provided menus, we realized everything we usually ordered every time we are here was removed from the menu and in shock because we don’t care for BBQ. The French Onion Soup, Thai Mussels, the Pear & Vanilla Vinaigrette salad and the Jumbalaya were the best here and my favorite most flavorful items. We ended up getting up from our table after deciding we were going to go somewhere else for dinner and then proceeded to sit at the bar. I’ve never waited so long to be asked if I wanted anything to drink here and a full 35mins later we finally had a cocktail, cashed out and left. It was not the same. Cocktail was good, as always.
