Nice selection of seafood including good fish cakes. Was better under previous management for ex. they used to cook the clam cakes on demand rather than cooking a large batch which then won’t be as fresh or hot

I ate there today and the the cod fish batter was not good... dark brown not what used to be.... there was Bare fish showing no better on it totally disappointing

Absolutely disgusting for one of my favorite lifelong Seafood Restaurants !!! Batter tastes like flour, the fish over cooked n dry. Complete new staff screams new ownership that doesnt even look appropriate ! So sad to have to say good bye after all these years

Very rude lady who takes your order I'm not sure if I will ever go back for that reason.doesnt help anymore with order choices but makes really stupid comments I'm the wrong person to be saying that kinda stuff to. I don't take that kind of attitude likely. there's better seafood places out there with friendly staff so for that reason I will not be revisiting Gene's famous I can spend $50 plus elsewhere and have a friendly person who can take orders and be nice to people I'm sure there's their loyal customers who like that kind of service and to them enjoy

I got clam strips.. They were overcooked and rubbery. A lot of places with inexperienced cooks do that. By the time they're brown they're tough. I should have had fish and chips. That looked good. The woman behind me said the onion rings were good so I got some. But they're just the heavily battered kind that come frozen. I thought they'd be home made. Portions were generous..
