Way over-rated! Went twice for breakfast sandwiches and thought the first time we just hit it wrong. The service both times was awful, staff is rude and very unfriendly. The portuguese rolls are dry and over baked. The egg sandwich is almost inedible because of how dry it is. This is a no go!!

It's been a while since I have been to Mary Ellen's, but the one thing that stands out to me every time I went here was the breakfast sandwich with linguica on it. It's not your traditional breakfast sausage, but the flavor just makes me melt each time I take a bit. Don't judge me. I have also enjoyed their omelettes, their freshly made pancakes, handout grilled home fries and their Portuguese grilled muffin (some of us Mainers call it an English muffin) and blueberry muffins. Everything is scratch made here and you would need several days to enjoy everything they have to offer. Check them out if you are in the area!

Was excited to try this place based on prior reviews but left feeling disappointed. Food was just average, French toast was like typical Texas toast, thick and soft but not very flavorful, served with pancake syrup vs maple syrup. Would have been nice if server told us about $2 upcharge for English muffin when I asked about bread choices. And the “grilled” muffin was barely brown and flavorless so I didn’t even eat it. Hash browns also lacking in flavor. Told us we weren’t supposed to bring in our travel coffee mugs, have never heard that anywhere. Maybe we didn’t order the right things but don’t plan to come back.

Great food and great people. Little hard to find behind a building but worth it. We will be back.

Very nice place. More of a diner than a bakery. Basic, but yummy food. My partner had the Portuguese bread French toast, and I had a linguiça breakfast sandwich. Both were good, and the linguiça was as it should be.

We stayed in E. Falmouth and ventured out for breakfast before provisioning our rental. We enjoyed it so much we went back again although we were fully stocked up! Great homemade breads, Portuguese meats, vegetarian options, cozy atmosphere, quick and friendly service. DELICIOUS FOOD. Cash only.Vegetarian options: It's a breakfast/lunch cafe. Lots of options to exclude meat. They offer a veggie omelet and a veggie, plus omelet. I had the plus omelet twice and would happily order it again. Chock full of garden favorites.Parking: Shared parking lot with DQ. Mary Ellen's is behind DQ.

Pretty good stop for breakfast. Was packed and food came out fast. Definitely will try an egg sandwhich next time or the French toast. Looked awesome on other peoples plates.

“Despite being cash-only, this place is definitely worth a visit! Whether you want to grab your food to go or sit inside, the experience is equally satisfying. The fact that you see locals dining here is a testament to its quality. We were not disappointed with our food at all and would happily choose this spot over some other diners. It’s essential to take note as it’s easy to drive past, so be sure to slow down and give it a try. The combination of delicious food, local approval, and a unique ambiance make it a hidden gem worth exploring!”

I have been going to the cape for years and have never been here. Never even knew this place was here. I am so glad I found this place. This place will be my must go breakfast spot from now on. Food was great, atmosphere was very relaxed, and service was awesome. Must try the Portuguese French toast and the bacon egg and cheese on a Portuguese roll.
