We had lunch there about a month ago and it was great. However my wife and I went there tonight, November 9th 2025, to have dinner and did not have a repeat experience. I had fried haddock and my wife ordered baked haddock with a baked potato. My fish was perfect but my wife's was not. Her fish was completely bland, no flavor at all, and she honestly thought it might have been frozen. Her baked potato was also completely cold and hard as a rock. We also did not get our coleslaw with the order and I had to go up and get some and then realized that they had not brought tartar sauce with the plate either. I will say the head cook, who was on his break and the other room, saw that we were visibly unhappy and came over to see what he could do to help and got us some tartar sauce and apologized, which was very nice. We ended up throwing out the potato and she only ate a little bit of her fish which we took home, but we're probably going to throw out. Dinner cost a little over $30, so unfortunately it was not a good deal for us.

I just went to S S Lobster in fitchburg. had not been there for quite a while but I will not go back again.I got there at 11:15 Wednesday Oct 1. Went right in and placed my order to go.Crouds started coming around 11;30.Waited for 20 minutes and got up had to interup the crowd so I could ask where my order was.She told me they are working on it.Waited another 10 minutes and when a person let me in front of them I asked again and she told me thery are working on it. Waited another 15 minutes and finally asked again if she knew where my order was. She again told me they are working on it. I asked how much longer and she said give me your reciept and I will find out.I could see the workers were busy but they looked and said they never had the order.She said they are working on it now.It took them all of 5 minutes to fill my order. Not much food for what I paid but the real reason it bothered me was my sister in law turned 99 and this was a surprise for her.She is from the older time when no one fad money and if we went out she would never order fried scallops as she thought they were too expensive. She got about 8 scallops and a lot of fries.Of course she eats at 12 noon and they were eating when I got there.Anotheer man asked me why I was so calm with what had happened and I told him maybe 50 years ago I would have Been really p---ed off but now at my age what is the use. I know I will never go back there and I would never recommend them.

Place is a joke. Rudest dirtbag workers you’d ever encounter. Called to ask for seafood prices and the guy told me I should have paid attention to the automated voice messages on the phone and not call the fish market. Second time I’ve been treated disrespectfully by this place. First time they ripped me off with incorrect pricing. I was going to give it another shot but after today, never again. If you enjoy being spoken down to and shady business practices this is your spot! Clowns
I recommend you split the big seafood platter between several people. It was plenty of food for the 3 of us. Great tasting lobster chunks, scallops, whole clams and shrimp.

I simply COULD NOT BELIEVE OUR EXPERIENCE HERE. Fresh steamed lobster for me and a fresh lobster roll for my friend. Outstanding service, and when our order was brought to us I asked for a cup of hot water because I’m one of those people who like rinse off the roe….then dip in butter. The young man was so sweet, (probably doesn’t receive that request very often) and brought a nice BIG mug of hot water. All this, a large wine and bottled water for 62.00……. I WAS STUNNED. Coming back soon. Thank you everyone!

Fish market is awesome. Lots of fresh seafood 🦞!!!! Lobster salmon cod catfish mussels steamers plus other complimentary items. Prices are reasonable. Went early day before July 4th and they had long lines, but they staffed very well and loved ones moved quickly. So yeah a super popular place. Well worth the visit. HURRY before they run out and ENJOY
