We had lunch here today for the first time. It was one of the most amazing dining experiences. Delicious, fresh, home cooked food and decadent desserts. Alana, our server was friendly and welcoming. This little gem is one of Fitchburg’s hidden treasures.
Everything we tried was delicious!
We had a delicious dinner tonight at The Pauper’s Pantry. We started with the tasty lobster poutine appetizer. The mix of lobster, hollandaise sauce, and munster cheese was creative and a great complement to our seafood main course. A visit to this cozy, scratch kitchen restaurant must include their haddock topped with lobster and a side of broccoli rabe over perfectly crafted mashed potatoes. The haddock was moist, fresh, and buttery tender as well as the lobster claw meat garnish. I had the lunch size since we ordered an appetizer. The haddock was a solid 8 oz which was filling with the generous serving of the broccoli and mashed potatoes. We ended our meal by sharing the decadent banana cream pudding. Excellent service and delicious food will bring us back more often.
So many great dishes, it was hard to choose! Dinner and dessert were SO GOOD.
Nursing home food. A bunch of racists work here, uneducated/unexposed that think they are better than other people. You should see how they treat the Indian kids that work for them, literally like trash. Calling other workers dog eaters. And they don’t use gloves to prep food! I would not eat anything from there unless forced and that would be super deep fry greasy food.
Great staff, great food.

Lesson #1: It's BYOB
Lesson #2: The food is amazing!
Pauper's Pantry is a quaint little place. It's smallish, and the noise level just right for the room. When we walked in, I recognized the layout, but can't recall when I'd been there before. Breakfast, I think. For starters, in spite of my self-imposed calorie restrictions, the Short Rib Poutine was irresistible and delicious!
Guest #1 was my son, who savored a Butternut Squash Bisque before slamming the Arancini Seafood Tower, while my wife enjoyed a Roast Turkey Melt. The food is fresh and the sandwich looked homemade with thick toast and fresh-carved turkey. Speaking of fresh, I opted for the Asian Lettuce Wraps with grilled avocado, and everything on the plate looked like it was harvested that day!
As you can tell, the menu is quite varied when one can enjoy a turkey sandwich and another can satisfy a dinner craving for an Asian dish while a fancy, decadent seafood dish rounds out the trifecta.
Finally, our server was wonderful and surprisingly, our bill before tax came in under $90. Three thumbs up!

Cannot say enough about this place! Wonderful food, wonderful people, and just a really great atmosphere. Still talking about it a week later!
Dietary restrictions: I cannot have Gluten and dairy. They not only have excellent knowledge of their foods and food allergies... They have a *separate Fryer!!!* So many places have shared friers and I have to pass on fries and such. I was able to safely eat fries and have really great food without any reactions. This place, and the people who work here are amazing
