1606 Restaurant & Oyster Bar

Our server, Holly, was incredible. My party felt so well taken care of. I accidentally broke one of the candles on the cake I had brought, and she was able to fix it before bringing it to the table. I have never had a bad experience at 1606, and this was the best yet. Thank you to all of the talented team that makes 1606 run. Thank you Holly for making my wife's birthday brunch a delight! Excellent food, wonderful service, amazing views.

Very disorganized service. Sunday Brunch Took long time to ask for order. Brought one dish to table then took it back saying it was for someone else. When finally got both dishes for our order one dish totally wrong. By the time it was corrected other person done eating. Disappointed in quality of the food Unlikely to go back.

Great Easter buffet with everything you could ask for! We had a lovely time. No nice not to have to cook for a holiday. Excellent service, fantastic food, lovely setting (of course helped by the beautiful sunny day).

The environment and view is very stunning. I had the crab cake and baked haddock. The crab cake is the best that I've had, the baked haddock was alright but still pretty tasty. The service was quick and I enjoyed visiting.

The raw bar service with AC (tender) was so good we went back for a second visit AND booked a third with another friend. The food is great, the service with AC is great. He's a fantastic bartender/host at the raw bar. Highly recommend.

Vibes at sunset are a 20/10. We just went for drinks and oysters and sat at the bar, but the drinks were great, oysters were superb, and the sunset was breathtaking.

Really hate to give the 1606 restaurant a bad review since it’s our go to place for just hanging out at the bar having drinks and apps, or having a nice dinner at the restaurant which we did on Saturday evening. My wife ordered the scallops which were excellent as usual, and I ordered the tomahawk steak, but when I started cutting into it, I was just getting fat and gristle more than half was fat, the waitress was even surprised. She took it back to the chef and He told her to bring it back and said that’s normal for that cut of steak. I have had tomahawk steaks in the past, and I understand some fat for the flavor but nothing like this. I feel like I threw $150 away. Like I said in the beginning, never ever had a bad meal here always five stars,

Perhaps the best burger and fries in Gloucester!
Gotta have the bacon! Crispy and cooked to perfection.
The tomato jam is sweet and cuts the saltiness of the bacon. Bib lettuce is a great choice. Brioche bun pulls it all together. The patty was very tasty and cooked perfectly.
The fries were amazing. Cut and shaped differently than any other. They were light, crispy and cooked perfectly.
Definitely recommend this burger.

A small group of us ordered cocktails and sat outside by the fire pits. Service was great, cocktails were excellent, and you can not beat the view! Would definitely return

I had the soup off the day, which was carrot ginger and oh my was that good. I had the seared tuna steak and it was so good with the wasabi sauce and pickled ginger. My husband had the lobster roll and the clam chowder and thoroughly enjoyed both. Try the night sky drink too, it was delightful and refreshing. The other night we just had drinks on the deck and it was so beautiful listening to the waves crash and enjoy the fireside table 10/10

There is no better place to dine than on the deck on a good weather day, overlooking the harbor, eating well prepared excellent food.

Parking: Your parking cost is tipping the valet service. There is no hourly charge for parking while dining.
