Fried clam appetizer was $40 and wasn't very good by New England standards. Lobster bisque was good but not hot enough. Had to have it reheated. $20 drinks. It could have been a lot better. The ambiance and ocean views were fantastic.
Food and drinks amazing. Waiter and kitchen very accommodating for our friend who has food allergies.
Our local friend recommended this place and we stayed there besides. Great raw bar with ME and Mass oysters and other fresh shellfish. Both the ahi and the scallops were great with a nice display of fresh veggies. Incredible wine selection. Great service from Vanessa.
We had a wonderful dinner at 1606! They gave us a lovely table with a view. Lisa, our server was fantastic! There was a slight issue with my entree and while they were preparing it again, she brought out a very nice salad while I was waiting. That was a very nice gesture! The food and service were impeccable and in such a lovely setting. We hope to return!
The location is gorgeous. We got there a little early for our reservation and were promptly seated on the deck for a drink. Then we went in on time and sat at the oyster bar. Things started off great; we didn't mind that they forgot an appetizer that we ordered. We pivoted to opt for a dessert - something we almost never do. The only “disappointment” was our entrees - they were fine, just not great; we blame ourselves mostly for poor selections.. That dessert though, together with the oysters and the drinks - fantastic!
Second time for us, beautiful place, elegant and quiet for lunch. We were slightly disappointed by our main courses (tuna was well cooked but sides were cold + issue with tatziki in my falafel plate. We did not like its taste and asked to change but the manager came to say that how it was suppose to taste. Not a good response IMO. But we will be back because the place is really lovely and our server was great
Has a great time. Excellent sea view, competently prepared food, attentive service. I was especially happy with the gnocchi, which came with a very generous amount of tasty veggies.

We had a delicious dinner watching the sunset from the bar. Shout out to Kiki who was tending bar and waiting on us and many others, hustling with good humor, grace and a lovely smile. Thank you!

We sat at the bar and had horrible service. My fish tacos were terrible and my husband's steak was not what he ordered. The decor and ambiance were fantastic. Hoping food service was better in the dining room.
I've dined at the Beauport bar and at 1606 several times and generally always have a pleasant experience. My family and I went this past weekend to celebrate my parents' anniversary, and I had called ahead to request that a bottle of champagne be ready on the table and if there was anything else that could be done to make the table "special". I was able to prepay for the champagne and expected that everything would be ready upon arrival. Upon arrival, the champagne was not set up and there was nothing notable about the table; in fact, a chair and a place setting were missing entirely. I had assumed that our table would be near the deck or in a booth, given my request and the celebratory nature of the reservation, but this was not the case. Our server came by to ask to take our drink order, at which point I asked about the champagne, and they acknowledged it was ordered and could be brought over. Our additional drink order was taken, and when it arrived, my husband's beverage was served in a severely chipped and cracked tumbler glass. When we were able to get the server's attention, it was corrected immediately, but we were all a bit underwhelmed with how the evening was proceeding. In all, the restaurant that evening was very busy and it appeared that perhaps the staff was overwhelmed in general, which I empathize with as a former server. The food is reliably tasty and the ambience is generally lovely, but I would be wary of celebrating here unless you have an official rental/event of the space.

We started off having reservations for in the bar. Then to find out that we could be on a waiting list for outdoor seating we requested a seat next to the fire pit. Once seated, we were never given plates, napkins, or any hardware we were not offered water. It took a half an hour to find somebody to take our old cocktails and ask if we needed any other drinks and then to find out that the fire pit didn't even work the waitress was horrible and rude When we asked for something she said OK but you may have to wait a while I'm very busy. The food was good, but the service and the fact that we were told we could have a fire pit and then to find out that it was not working was very disappointing. Not sure if we will be back.
My wife and I went here twice on our anniversary trip to Massachusetts. On our first visit, for lunch, we enjoyed wonderful service from the British bartender who made our experience comfortable and entertaining. My wife tried the florentine pizza and I tried the sesame crusted tuna. The pizza was phenomenal - tasty and delicious. The tuna dish, while prepared and presented well, was somewhat bland and tasteless. We ordered two mocktails, both prepared wonderfully. We visited again the next night for dinner and had a somewhat disappointing experience. I ordered the carrot salad which had practically no carrots. The vegetable blend was bitter and the dressing didn’t do anything to balance this, and I was barely able to finish half of it. As a fan of crab, my wife ordered the crab Louie which was quite tasty and she enjoyed it very much. We decided to split the bolognese as our entree which was bland and tasteless. However, the atmosphere dining by the ocean at sunset was the best on our trip, and our server was very good (with the exception of grabbing the bill before we were finished dining - this was lacking a bit of class for an upscale restaurant). We finished with the peach crumble and ice cream which was as good as we hoped. Walking out of the restaurant, the young girls working the front desk were chatting loudly about their “fake” friends, etc., and did not acknowledge us as we left. Minor issue, sure, but noticeable and hence worth mentioning. The valet parking and door men were responsive. Overall, a good experience but not as exceptional as it could have been.

Bartender very good. Food never really impressed. This is my 3rd time there. Great hotel would recommend more causal bar vs 1660 restaurant
The service was only fair. I think our waitress assessed us as non big spenders immediately. The basket of bread was excellent, and the strawberry rhubarb butter was innovative. Our entrees ranged from not very good to very good. A pork belly sandwich was dry. A portion of scallops was ungenerous at 5 scallops with some very tasty vegetables, but it was not worth its cost. The best dish was a panko fried haddock sandwich with fries. The fries were very good. I would have to think hard about whether to go back.
