Everything is perfect - the staff, the rooms, the view, the cafe, the upkeep and of course Gloucester! Everything is A++++Rooms: Rooms are always impeccably clean. Every year something is updated - new table and chairs, wall decor, drapes etc .Walkability: The walkway across the street is right on the Bass Rocks rocky coast. A wonderful walk.

Cute and quaint. Very classic NE oceanside hotel. Fantastic view of the Atlantic from the second level which was one of the main reasons we stayed here although a bit pricey for what you get. If breakfast was included would have made it worth it but it's separate. Tiny bathroom, tiny shower and the bathroom sink is strangely not standard height. Be careful not to bash your head on the edge of the counter when using the toilet. Nice mid-size refer. Old school style door key. Oceanside door leads to a common balcony area. We wish we could left it open so we can hear the ocean but didn't feel safe doing so. Some top level rooms could really benefit from a renovation -- remove that wasted space by the front door, open up the bathroom area, expand shower & vanity and put in a soaking tub with retractable window doors so people can take in the view while taking a bath. All in all, would recommend staying here at least in the off season. Just take into consideration the price with amenities given. Closed from November through May.Walkability: Can walk across the street over to the rocky oceanside for some nice selfies! ??️

You could not pick a better place for the view alone. Rooms are attractive, comfortable, and fairly priced. It's lovely to have a breakfast cafe on site. The menu has something for everyone and every breakfast I've had there has been delicious and portions are generous. The folks at the desk are congenial and helpful. It's my go to place in Gloucester!

Every time we visit the Atlantis we have an unforgettable stay. There is no better view, or breakfast in New England and the rooms are spacious and spotless. Best of all the staff is not only efficient, they are warm and welcoming! We will be back again next season.

We came on a road trip to Gloucester for 3 nites and on to Maine. Celebrating 50th anniversary so it was meant to be relaxing and not running around. Spent a lot of time enjoying the gorgeous view from our window and porch and seeing sunrise/set each day. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was superb. All employees pleasant and helpful. Thanks for the anniversary thoughtfulness!

Everything about our stay at Atlantis was perfect! Our room was spacious and spotless. The view of the sunrise over the water was a great way to begin each day. Directly across from Atlantis is a paved walking path with the ocean on one side and some fabulous homes on the other. The staff was friendly and helpful. They were even kind enough to gift us mugs and chocolate when they found out we were celebrating our 53rd anniversary. Stay here——you will love it!

This hotel is by far the nicest, cleanest and friendliest hotel I have ever stayed in. And you cannot beat the view of the Atlantic and the great breakfast in the cafe. Would go back in a heartbeat.

We absolutely loved this quaint, seaside hotel. Gorgeous views of the ocean crashing against majestic rock formations, exceedingly pleasant staff, and a great breakfast (again with breathtaking views of the ocean). We can't wait to return to this charming town and hotel.

In mid-September 2023, my wife and I spent one Tuesday night in room 206 of this lovely motel. It is beautifully located, right across the street from the ocean. Each room has its entrance from the back and covers the depth of the building to lead to a balcony in front, thus providing each room with a two-chair seating area and table to sit and watch the ocean. Wonderful! Everything is close in Gloucester, so this hotel is convenient to it all. The location definitely gets a 5. Each room is well appointed, and one can open a window high in the bathroom and then open the lockable screen door to get superb cross ventilation. Our night's sleep was cool and wonderful. Everything in the room was in perfect condition, something we frequently do not see, as many places defer maintenance, particularly in bathrooms. Not here. And really nice soaps, shampoos, etc. Bed was firm enough for my bad back as well, so both bed and room gets a 5. Staff here are super friendly and helpful. They helped us find a great place for dinner (LobstaLand, reviewed elsewhere on TA), and they made us feel like we had joined a little community. So, we gave them a 5. They have a highly rated breakfast restaurant on site here, but the chef's day off is Wednesday, so it was "closed." But as guests, we were provided with coffee, muffins and fruit without additional charge that morning. This continental breakfast was available to take back to the room, to carry in a to-go bag for the road, or to eat in the wonderful cafe while watching the ocean. We did the latter. Our cost for a night was $274, the most expensive place we stayed on our 19-day, 2600-mile road trip. So that logically would make its value rating a high-ish 3. But this place is magical, and we wished we had been able to stay more than one night. We'll compromise and give it a 4 for value. So: 5 for location, 5 for bed, 5 for room, 5 for staff, 4 for value. That averages out to 4.8, so we give it a 5. We'd go back here in a heartbeat, and are trying to come up with an excuse to go back to Gloucester. We think this place must be a true delight in summer, with its view, the seaside-hugging walking/biking path across the road, and its well-maintained pool.

We enjoyed our stay. The view was amazing, the staff was extremely friendly, the rooms and property were very clean. We booked a king bed room. There was ample space for our things. I read some prior reviews (which I do for every hotel/motel) so I was prepared for the small bathroom and the room not being completely dark at night. There is a light outside of each room on the balconies which I’m sure is there for safety reasons. I am very sensitive to light - I took a sleep mask with me so it was not an issue. The bathroom was small but also not an issue. There is no fan in the bathroom but there is a window that can be opened which helps. We did not get a chance to try breakfast because we were on the run all week but hopefully next trip we can check it out. We loved our walks along the shore. We would absolutely stay here again.

Quiet and safe area with great views. Rooms are spacious and clean. Balcony is great for sunrise viewing. Location is not walkable to restaurants, pubs, shopping, etc. For the price, we expected more amenities. Free coffee was only available one day for about an hour. All other days, coffee had to be purchased from the cafe. The rooms are very “bare bones” but include basics like a coffee pot and hair dryer. The coffee provided in the rooms is absolutely terrible. The adjacent hotels provided seating along the oceanfront but this location did not. We did not use the pool but it looked clean and well maintained. The attached breakfast cafe is very overpriced. Overall we enjoyed our stay but would not return for the price we paid.Rooms: Clean roomsWalkability: Not walkable to restaurants
