A nice family dine out, enjoyable environment, great food, good service, fair price for market. Will return at some point during peak summer season to enjoy the area along with good food and service.

Such a great place! Nice views, homey atmosphere, staff is so nice and helpful. Food is outstanding. Inspite of inflation they manage to keep lunch for 2 very affordable. I'll be back.

I have never sat down for dinner here, I always get it to go. By far the best clam chowder I have ever had. Definitely recommend. Parking can be difficult, but patience will get you far.

Food was good. Went here for a work function so it was buffet style. My review might be better or worse for a sit down meal here. But as for their function handling the service was impeccable and the atmosphere was perfect.

I had a hot lobster roll and a cup of clam chowder, girlfriend had fish and chips and we got an order of onion rings to share. The truth is we couldn't finish all the food we got, though not for lack of trying! The portions were so generous, we could have split an entrée and still been stuffed. Chowder was perfectly solid, just a really good, authentic New England clam chowder. The lobster roll was just piled with fresh, tender, juicy lobster meat. It didn't really hold up as a sandwich you could pick up, but that barely matters. The fish and chips was crisp and fresh. And actually the onion rings were a surprising highlight of the meal. They were fresh, you could tell they are cut and battered on-site, and you can tell they do a great job of changing out their fry-oil because they didn't have any of that fishy smell/taste that sometimes happens with places that are frying a lot of fish and other items. Overall the meal was 10/10 for value and quality.

I’d give 6 stars if I could. Quote of the night “Best meal I’ve had in the US” from someone here from Japan for over 6 months. We had lobsters and tuna. Service was great (high top by the bar). ??????

The famous Gloucester House... don't waste your time the food is horrible..if it is open... they always book private events and don't tell the public...so when customers come to get a meal that is when they find out it's not open to the public....it used to be a very good restaurant.. now it's a dump....

Nice location and nice staff, but the food was disappointing. The seaside pub atmosphere made me optimistic and warm service made me optimistic, but as soon as the lobster rolls arrived I knew it would be underwhelming. The lobster was dry, gummy and the meat pieces were small and sparse. For $40, which is more than a lobster roll with 4 times the meat and 10 times the quality costs in Boston, it was a bit of a rip-off. On the positive side, the tater tots were great. They were crispy and served piping hot fresh. They probably came from a frozen bag, but they were made well. The fish chowder was not bad. Although the soup was not very rich and somewhat underseasoned, the fish seemed fresh and was flaky and tasty. Fries were not great (likely also from a bag, under seasoned, fast-food thin, and served lukewarm). The atmosphere may merit a visit for drinks, but food may be a gamble.
