Pizza dough was very different from a few months ago. It was very dry and overcooked.

I was on an errand Yesterday to the Post Office Boxes for a friend. I got there about 2 minutes after 12 and just missed them. I had no idea they closed for lunch, and I missed them by minutes. Being from out of town, I decided to walk Lexington Ave, which was lovely. My son was with me and we decided to stop in to Girlfriends (love the name) for coffee. Once there, the menu, the atmosphere and the people were great and we decided to eat. The food was great, reasonable and Cindy our waitress was just fun. We met a couple from Connecticut visiting and began chatting. It’s just that kind of atmosphere that lets you be comfortable and at home. Go enjoy and take the leftovers home for another meal. Great place. Decided that each time I go to Gloucester, I’m going there as well. Enjoy.
Anyone who gives this place less than 5 stars doesn’t know what good service is. My man and I had a fantastic breakfast, strong coffee, and learned a little about the history from the two lovely women working. Came all the way from MN and will definitely come back when we are in town again!

Food was top notch!!! Staff were friendly, welcoming and most of all fun people to be around. They love their job and it shows! I now even know how to pronounce “linguica!”
Food was ok. Fried pickle fries were delicious. Coffee was gross, incredibly watery. We ordered “special” pumpkin coffee- there was no pumpkin flavor, just a ton of milk. While we were still eating our food, the waitress came over asking about boxes, and then proceeded to give us the check without seeing if we wanted more to order. This experience was incredibly rushed and not enjoyable. Would not recommend dining in at this restaurant.

As someone who can’t eat either gluten or dairy, this cafe is by far the best I’ve found anywhere on the North Shore!
The staff always go well out of their way to accommodate me and anyone with a gluten allergy. And the best part is that the food they make is not only perfectly safe, but EXTREMELY delicious! I go here almost once a week and have for the last several months, and not once have I ever gotten sick. Any time I feel like trying a new menu item, I know with certainty I wont have to worry about cross-contamination or going home ill.
Beyond the food, the people who work here are amazing. Every time I’m in, the staff members take time out of their day to chat with me and make me feel seen and part of the community. I love how cozy and fun the atmosphere is inside, and their patio sits on a beautiful, quiet little street that’s perfect for relaxing at the end of a hard work week. I love bringing my friends here to try the food so they can fall in love with this little corner of Gloucester too. ❤️

When a person has celiac disease and eats gluten, they are sick for weeks.I asked the staff about their gluten-free food and notified the staff that the food had to be gluten-free because of celiac disease. They said they had dedicated prep, dedicated deep fryers, no cross-contamination. Yet my son right after he ate vomit 🤢 repeatedly. That is what happens when someone with celiac is glutenized. Gluten damages the small intestines of people with celiac disease!!!! People can die of this condition. Please take this seriously. People who are traveling because of moving should be able to eat out and not have to worry! I am so tired of people thinking gluten-free is a fad. It is a horrible condition in this world filled with gluten and people not caring or advertising gluten-free but lying.

I got the Chipotle burger and fries. Both were absolutely fantastic. Highest possible recommendation. Price was about $18 (normal for the area).

A fantastic locally owned and operated restaurant. These are the types of businesses that build neighborhoods. SUPPORT LOCAL FAMILY BUSINESSES. Extremely friendly service, excellent prices always a smiling face and always something delicious out of the kitchen. Family recipes, home-cooked food, everything here is fantastic!

The salsa was made in a way we didn't care for but others may like it. The chips with the salsa were a little too oily and not enough salt. The cheese sticks were ok dipping sauce excellent. The main meal of burgers, a chicken sandwich and fries were excellent. If we skipped the apps it would have been 5's across the board. Would go there again but will probably skip the apps.
