We were in town from Maine for the day doing some antique and record shopping. We received a tip from one of the antique stores to try Machaca after we asked for food recommendations in the area. HOLY moly was she ever right. I am from the southwest and am VERY picky about Mexican food and Machaca delivered big time. The chimi from the bar menu was amazing and the black beans were stellar. William was our server and could not have been any more attentive and friendly. The service here is outstanding. Also, best house margarita I have ever had. Highly recommend this establishment!!!

The karaoke was on point and the food was delicious and fairly priced. They specialize in tequila and the margaritas where delicious and tart. I recommend for a fun spot if you’re bae hoping the area.

Delicious Mexican food!! Went during the annual fiesta and they were fast, attentive, and everything tasted delicious!! We had arrived after closing and they were still serving bar apps so that’s what I tried. The sliders! Delicious. Can’t wait to come back and try their full menu.

My friend raved about this place and while the atmosphere is fun and festive the food was really not great. The salmon with chimichurri sauce was dry and overcooked along the edges and raw in the middle at medium, overall flavorless and strangely bland. The sauce was flavorless and the herbs weren’t fresh. I’d pass on this dish and go for something else. The salsa is good and the chips are a little thin but good. My friend loved her shrimp taco and maybe a fajitas or taco is where I should have gone too but I trusted the server and that it’s Gloucester and hoped the salmon would be fresh. I might try again and hope for better but I might not. Overall the food didn’t look at appealing but the crowd seemed happy. Maybe an off night or just the wrong dish.

The food is so so flavorful and always delicious. Everyone working there is so sweet, and no matter who we have for a server, they are always so kind to our young kids. Excellent place - highly recommend!

Excellent in all ways. Wish it opened at 2:30 or 3:30 pm. My mezcal margarita, perfection, as the guac & tacos. Multiple house made sauces. The green was my favorite.

Best authentic tacos in the area, with most everything hand-made. Very large selection of tequilas as well.

The food is bad. Soggy, salty . Isn’t even better than chipotle.

My husband and I can’t decide whether we adore Machaca for it’s fabulous food, the great vibe, the attentive and passionate owner and his staff - wait, we love all of it! The food is unique, truly authentic Mexican and the ingredients are fresh and delicious!
Our only regret is that we don’t visit enough!
