We were two couples on a Christmas trip to Boston from Texas, looking for great food and found it here. My brother loved the oysters and the eggplant parmigiana. His wife had the branzino and raved. We shared a Caesar salad and eggplant parmigiana- so well seasoned and flavorful! Our server was friendly and attentive. We could not have asked for more.
Absolutely incredible meal at Tonno, highlighted by amazing service. The fresh pasta was excellent and the cheesecake was incredible. The service by Lindsey was above and beyond. She helped me navigate the menu, find vegetarian options, and made me feel so at home in the restaurant as a solo diner. Kudos to Lindsey and the staff at Tonno!

Meal was fine. Server was great. Dinner was ruined because we were sat next to an incredibly annoying table who were arguing intensely the entire time. I couldn't even carry on a conversation with my husband. His pasta also tasted like water more than any sauce.

This was a site for a reunion with 25 people. We had a private room and a menu served family style. (Each person could have a choice of 5 entrees.). We couldn’t believe the quantity and quality of the food. We felt as if we were at an ancient Roman banquet! And the dessert board was just superb! I especially recommend the tiramisu and the cheesecake. But everything was delicious. Highly recommended.
Amazing food, service and cocktails. We all tried various items. The flatbreads and dumplings were delicious. The seasonal pumpkin espresso martini- also top notch. Skilled bartenders and wait staff. The owner was also super friendly.
The most amazing bolognese I’ve ever had. Our server Lindsey made our experience perfect. Can’t wait to come back.

My husband and I have been to Tonno in Gloucester a few times and it's always such an all around excellent experience. This time we enjoyed the Swordfish and Lobster/pasta special and they were both delicious. The staff is always nice and the overall atmosphere is great. It's about a 45 minute drive for us to get there, however it's well worth it and we always find something fun to do in the downtown.
Fine Italian food, creative drinks, superb service by Lindsey.
We were greeted with a smile and upbeat attitude and we were asked if our table was to our satisfaction. Our waiter Ezio was very knowledgeable about the menu and fully explained all the dishes we were interested in. The Shrimp appetizer he recommended was amazing! The pasta was fresh and the sausage was delicious. The risotto was cheesy and delicate with fresh asparagus. Wish we had room for dessert. Cappuccino and expresso were spot on . Give it a try!

This was hands down the best service we’ve ever experienced. Lindsey was a fantastic food guide— accommodating our dietary restrictions, preferences, and whims! We live in nyc but are already planning our return.

Ate dinner here for the first time ever, and had what might be the best dish I have ever had in all of my fine dining experience.

I didn't usually give 5 stars across the board but this place was fantastic!!!! Oysters were the freshest I've had recently, food was on point!!!! I got the tuna steak with an additional side of the white beans. I was so happy with my choice. I plan to return next time I'm in Gloucester. I can't remember our servers name but his recommendations and patience was much appreciated and worked out in the best possible ways. I was there with my 2 kids and niece and everybody left happy and satisfied. Server was tall with glasses and he was excellent!!!!!!

My wife and I ate dinner here on 8/12/25.
Excellent meal and service, and reasonably priced.
Our server Owen was very knowledgeable about every item on the menu.
I ordered the Fried Zucchini Flowers and Veal Milanese. My wife ordered the Risotto appetizer. Luckily we decided to only have the Zucchini for our appetizer and have the Risotto and Veal for our dinners.
The Risotto was delicious. And was definitely enough for dinner.
The Veal was enough for two meals. Ended up taking half of it for lunch the next day.
Reason for 3 Atmosphere stars?
Very noisy with everyone trying to talk over everyone else. They also had music playing but you really couldn't hear it - just the thumping of the drums...
One suggestion! Keep your bottles of Limoncello in the freezer instead of the fridge. I was going to have some after dinner but after hearing that it was only refrigerated, decided to pass...

4 visits in 4-years for us. Primary reason for only once a summer is all of the other outlets for fresh seafood and onion rings for me at-least. The food has always been consistently excellent, the service a close second, and the overall vibe indoors, very chill. Ate outside twice and simply wasn't as nice as indoors. Service is superb. And I hate people who take pictures of their food, so never a photo. Only fond memories.
