Bizen is a sushi lover’s paradise! The fish is impeccably fresh, with each piece crafted to perfection, making every bite a revelation. The menu showcases both classic rolls and inventive specials that elevate sushi to an art form. The ambiance is uniquely authentic, transporting you to a cozy Japanese haven. After countless meals here, Bizen remains my go-to for unforgettable sushi.

I've enjoyed sushi worldwide, but Bizen stands out as exceptional. The sushi is unparalleled in quality, offering the best I've ever tasted. There is nothing quite like Bizen. The atmosphere is unique and authentic, enhancing the dining experience. The owner, Michael, is incredibly friendly and ensures everything runs smoothly. After 20+ visits, I’m still eager to return.

Sushi is average at best but you’ll pay through the nose for it. An hour after we ordered on a busy Saturday night, not a piece of sushi had been served to us. The manager made a lame excuse, the “compensation” provided was not requested but was nominal. I chose not to argue either the purported excuse or the nominal adjustment made to the bill. There are many great restaurants in the Berkshires, this just isn’t one of them for food, service or courtesy.

This restaurant has a huge menu. That actually is not necessarily a plus, as it is likely hard to keep so many fresh ingredients and stay in business. We ordered A5 Wagyu ($40) as an appetizer. It is something we had in other restaurants, so we had a certain level of expectations for this delicacy. It did not look or taste like other a5 wague we had tried. It did not melt in your mouth. It was not bad, and I liked the wasabi sauce that came with it, but the taste and the presentation did not live up to my expectations. Sushi (sushi dinner option) had a good selection of fish, but felt slightly warm. Miso soup was more bland than I had in other places. The service was helpful and friendly. The bathroom was spacious and clean.

We started with the wagyu eden salad, it's supposed to be A5 Wagyu. It didn't look or taste like A5, it's not bad but it tasted just like ordinary beef.
For my main course I had a seafood udon noodle soup. It's ok but a little bland. The salad that came with was salty.
The menu is the size of a telephone book which makes it hard to figure out what you want. I'd suggest that they reduce the number of pages by 90%.

Michael, the owner, the staff, and the food are a true reflection of omotenashi (hospitality) and shokunin (craftsmanship). Every detail shows care, artistry, and love for what they do. This isn’t just a restaurant — it’s a cultural center where food becomes art. I’m beyond grateful for their hospitality, their support of the arts in the Berkshires and beyond, and the way they keep their community connected!

My husband and I have been eating at Bizen for about 7 years now and we've never been disappointed. The food is always fresh and it's also a great place to choose when trying to eat nutritiously. They use organic vegetables and fresh fish, which is what we gravitate towards. The owner, Mike, is wonderful and seems very passionate about the food. The restaurant is also located in a fun, downtown spot and during the summer the seating extends out, where there are vendors and entertainers set up. So much fun. Oh, they also make a great dirty martini!

We love this restaurant! Great ambiance with beautiful private rooms in the back, so it's perfect whenever we come with a group. We usually order a bunch of appetizers and sushi options to share, and we appreciate that they have great vegan sushi options too (the busketeer and buddha rolls are especially delicious). Great drink options, including mocktails - the bizen butterfly is one of the best mocktails we've ever tried!

Friendly staff. Helpful with ordering. I'm not a sushi connoisseur. Everything suggested was excellent. Love the sake also. Definitely worth a stop in for dinner or lunch.

Best of the best!!! Phenomenal plethora of choices, including many in house creations. The 50 Shades of Cray is a showstopper both aesthetically and gastronomically. Tasja provided world class service. Truly an experience for any sushi or hibachi lover.
