STEAM Noodle Cafe Reviews
we ordered spicy pork tonkatsu but the broth was beef. It used to be good when they opened. But the food has gotten from bad to worse. Broths are usually lukewarm, and the soup is just mediocre.
Imagine my delight when I found this gem during a visit to Great Barrington while touring the area. We had our senior dog with us and my husband and I needed a table outdoors to eat in the shade. Almost out of options, then we walked down a side street off Main Street and found STEAM Noodle Cafe among the few open restaurants on a Monday at the shared patio area. STEAM Noodle Cafe is a cozy, small restaurant serving a variety of Asian-inspired dishes. Their menu offers a range of options, including summer spring rolls, bimimbap with beef, pork loin ramen, and Thai iced tea. The buns are soft and delicious, and their noodle soups, such as the Tom Yum noodle soup, are satisfying. The soup bowls are especially praised, with dishes like shrimp tom yum and shoyu chicken soup having great layered flavors without being overly salty. The chicken in the soup is tasty and moist, and the noodles are perfectly cooked with good chew. Extra bok choy adds a nice dose of veggies. Some dishes, like the spicy tonkatsu ramen and shrimp skewers with mango salad, may not meet expectations. Despite this, the service is excellent, and the ambiance is cozy. Many customers find the flavors authentic and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, making it a favorite spot for repeat visits.
