We have never been disappointed by the quality of food at The East. Sometimes takeout is busy but this is a good thing! Our server today was Tony and he was so thoughtful and caring, truly made our Easter Sunday very memorable.

I took my 3 year old daughter here to have differenttypes of sushi. The waitstaff was super nice and provided explanations for all the different vegetarian sushi styles. There were more meat options than vegetarian. The scallion pancakes are among the best items there.I got the feeling it was more of a take out place than a dining out place... even though there was tons of room and seating.Vegetarian options: Not many vegetarian sushi options. But they did have a vegetarian section.

Visiting the East Asian Cuisine restaurant was the perfect end to a day in Great Barrington!!! The food was absolutely delicious and it felt like they really cared about not just presentation, but about creating truly delicious and enticing dishes! The waiter was so kind and perfectly attentive!! He may have been the owner, as he mentioned how the restaurant was his passion... which genuinely made it feel so wonderful to eat there!!! Some businesses feel overly commercialized and serve you as if you're just a number, but visiting EAC is the exact OPPOSITE!!! Our seating felt intimate, the menu was extensive and well thought out, and the waiter, again, had a wonderful heart and was so kind! The Scallion Pancakes were made with crispy perfection and came with a truly pleasing spicy sauce! My friend ordered and loved the pepper tuna, and I had the general Tso's tofu! ? What deliciously prepared dishes!! We'll definitely go back to try more from their extensive menu!! Thank you East Asian Cuisine! ?

Ok, so I need to share a secret... Growing up, there was a place in my town that reminded me of East and I brought that negative impression to Great Barrington with me. Trouble is, the restaurant I grew up near was NOTHING like this place and I'm so glad it isn't. We LOVE East! The staff is welcoming, comic and very knowledgeable about their menu. The food is authentic and extremely good! Make sure to stop in next time you are in the Berkshires, you won't be disappointed!

The East has consistently been one of my favorite restaurants in the area for almost a decade. Today I stopped in for lunch and to get some work done on my laptop. One of the employees, Tony, introduced himself to me, took my order, seemed friendly. He then began asking me a series of intrusive questions about my living situation, relationship status, and sexuality. I told him I was a lesbian, and he proceeded to tell me multiple stories about women he'd had sexual relationships with who "said they were lesbians." He touched me multiple times throughout my lunch, and at one point reached inside the booth to force a fortune cookie inside the pocket of my sweatshirt. This made me extremely uncomfortable, and I would advise other young women/queer folks dining alone to avoid doing so at this restaurant.
