Man, I love this place. The vibe is super chill — like your buddy’s house but with way better food and someone else doing the dishes. Been here a few times now and it never misses. Just solid comfort food that actually tastes like someone gave a damn making it.

Drinks are strong (bless), bartenders are cool, and it’s the kinda spot you stop by for one and end up staying till closing. It’s got that cozy neighborhood feel without being boring. Food hits the spot every time — especially if you’ve had a couple.

Honestly, if I lived any closer, this would be dangerous. 10/10 would recommend (and probably will again after a few beers).

The Well is better than ever with an upgrade in food quality and service as new ownership has recently taken over. Tonight I tried their special, which was Gravlax - served with shaved fennel + beurre blanc sauce and was thoroughly satisfied. Another thing to highlight is the price point for what you get and it’s very appropriate. A good sign for a restaraunt is when you see management present and interacting with customers not to mention the bartender was friendly and attentive. They can have my money. Looking forward to going back :)

The new owners stink and appear on their way to ruining one of the only good local spots we had for decent bar food and a drink. What a shame:/ wayyyyyyyy overpriced for verrrrry mediocre food

(edit after the well responded to my review) they say they didn’t change the price of the “nachos”, but they did take away the beans, olives and jalapeños that used to come on the nachos at no extra charge. Now they give you basic chips and cheese for the old price, and nickel and dime you if you want anything more on your “nachos”. Great job trying to gaslight everyone with your response though👏

Also, it’s fantastic that your bathrooms smell nice, but that’s pretty much at the bottom of the list of reasons I go to a restaurant.

Went last night, immediately questioned if there were new owners. Ordered nachos which used to be great, instead it was a tray of chips and cheese only, had to pay extra for anything else. I could make that in my microwave for $2. Panzanella was ok but the bread cubes should be bigger, not crouton sized. And a bowl of soup for $12 is ridiculous. Also, the new hours?! Closing at 10:00 on a beautiful Saturday evening while GB is still very lively seems silly. Sad to see this happen to a place we used to frequent but we won’t be back for some time, hopefully it gets better.

Had the best meal here. We had French onion soup Greek salad, and a burger. It was perfect. Amanda was our server. She was lovely.

I have an excellent meal stopping with the homemade tomato and basil soup and followed by a homemade shepherd's pie. The food was outstanding. Atmosphere was great. Bartender seemed a little distracted by a couple of the female patrons.

We were exploring shops in Great Barrington at the end of January and stumbled upon The Well just as we were getting hungry, and just as they were opening. Very friendly staff; relaxed environment. The cocktails we tried were delicious. We ordered several appetizers for the group, and they were HUGE portions! We had popcorn shrimp, nachos and sweet potato fries. They were all delicious and we had to have some boxed up to take with us.

Went for dinner before a show. We split a Well salad and both decided on shrimp poboys. Food was delicious and our waitress was very friendly and attentive. We had martinis that came quickly and were very reasonable compared to other places we visited. Will definitely return

Food was pretty good (pulled pork Mac and cheese was phenomenal). We sat outside as the inside was not very inviting for kids/family (very much a bar). The tables outside offer no shade so be aware if it is a sunny day.

We asked to sit outside and we were told someone would be sent out. It took a good while for someone to come out. Our waiter stated it was their first day. They were super friendly and attentive early on. Unfortunately my wife ordered onion rings but received fries. Then on the last time the waiter checked in on us I asked for the check. We waited for quite a while and eventually I went in with my plate to ask for a box and our check.

We would not return here but I imagine if you sat inside your experience would be different.

Kid-friendliness: No kids menu and I would not really want to sit my kids inside. Outside is fine but be advised they do not have shade whatsoever for the tables.

Cobb salad was excellent, French onion soup needed more broth.

Great ambiance, good food, I recommend the Mac & cheese with pulled pork all contained in a cute New England town. Take a drive on a weekend and enjoy the atmosphere.
