We called in to place our to go order and was out on hold. After 15 minutes of holding I hung up. My husband went to the restaurant and placed the order with the hostess. Over an hour later and a discussion with the manager.. apparently an order mix up.. our order was ready. When we got it home, the Bacon cheeseburger has no bacon and my fries calamari, requested NO PEPPERS was loaded with peppers.This was our last time for this restaurant. We had a poor experience last summer and wrote it off to the busy vacation crowd. I guess we were wrong.

Limited selection. Serving staff fantastic. We are local and almost never go here because the food is very limited in selection. Mostly pub type. I had forgotten this. Wanted a real dinner ended up with a burger and a pastrami sandwich...nothing on menu that was appealing or a reasonable price. The burger was $21. It was good, the onion rings also. I have had their baked Cod in the past. It was tender but the wine in the crumbs totally overpowered the dish so one might just zsvwell have been eating wine soaked hot buttered Ritz crackers. We have lived down tge street since the 400 opened and that's when it was excellent. They are always busy which is surprising to us now because we try it every 6 months with the hope they would pull their head out of their butt and stop buying the cheapest food they can get . Their chicken wings are absolutely disgusting and don't expect to get buffalo wings as they put the sauce on the side now Their famous 400 burger use to be amazing but now just an overcooked mess. The Ruben which only had cheese and meat.no kraut or dressing the onion rings were hard as rocks and the chicken fingers were the same. I wish they would maybe actually try their food hire a new cook or hire someone to check the food before it leaves the kitchen.. so disappointing

We tried to call in a TO GO ORDER....the phone rang and rang; they answered and placed me on HOLD. After 15 minutes; I HUNG UP since they never got back to the call. My spouse then called and the phone just rang, no answer at all.So, my spouse went down to place the order in person. He gave the order to the hostess and told her specifically NO PEPPERS in the fried calamari. She said they NEVER put peppers in the calamari. My son ordered a bacon cheese burger. An hour later (order mix up) and after speaking with the manager; the order was received. He brought it home and guess what... most of my calamari order had hot peppers in it and the burger had NO BACON.This will be the last time for 400 East. This is a terrific local pub with a surprisingly diverse menu. The food is well-prepared, of high quality, and often delicious. The staff is welcoming, friendly and attentive. It is no surprise that it attracts a large group of regulars who enjoy being there and typically enhance the experience. I've returned many times and I'm never disappointed

My steak tips were over cooked but we waited so long to order that I didn't want to send them back. You could tell that they were clearly understaffed. The poor waitstaff were running ragged.
