Fishtales is consistently good with kind servers. The food is tasty and I think it's priced well. We went recently with my 3 kids and in-laws. Everyone enjoyed their food and they staff were all kind to my children. It's nice to have the option of sitting outside.

Our lunch was terrible. Tiny piece of haddock corn from a can. Asked for rolls got a stale hamburger roll no butter. The steak was way over cooked. Not recommending.

It wasn't a busy night yet we were treated like outsiders. We sat at the bar and the bartender did not really treat us well, she focused on the people she knew and begrudgingly waited on us. On top of that I ordered and paid for whole belly clams, not a belly in the bunch just strips and I checked and was charged for the whole bellies. Our drinks were dry for a good 30 minutes and there was maybe 6 other people at the bar and no one else I saw inside and a few tables on the patio, so it wasn't busy. The bartender studiously ignored us. I used to like Fishtales but it was the second time in a row that I had a bad experience. What happened to this place?

For $28 i got a very small piece of salmon, scoop of rice and summer squash. I asked the waiter what the vegetable was and he said the vegetable was whipped butternut squash. How do you not know what your vegetable of the night was. Ugh. Will not be going again.

I was served reheated food from the day before. I'm sure of this because I got there at noon sharp on Sunday morning as the door opened. I ordered the whole belly fried clams and hand cut Fries. I swear it was brought out in 3 to 5 minutes. The clams were gummy and chewy and the fries limp. Needless to say I didn't eat it. Fishtails, Shame on you.

Haven’t been here in years. Went last night and I can’t count all the problems. We had a first night waiter. She was very nice but not trained and had no one with her. It started with the drink order, one Chardonnay on the menu, none available. Next, they had a very interesting sounding soup on special’s chalk board. We all order it, she had to come back to tell us they are out of that too. I moved to the clam chowder. The rest of the party passed on the soup. I never got the chowder. One of us ordered the scallops salad. It came dry. Took a while to get the dressing…. This is how the whole night went. I felt bad for this new server. It seemed like every time she went to the kitchen, she’d come back with another problem. There were two more staff in the room, never helped her. The quality of the dinners were no where near what we remember them to be.

This is my new favorite seafood restaurant!
The food was really outstanding. The restaurant has a lovely outdoor patio and we will definitely visit again.

Wonderful family experience with Fishtales. Food was great, 3 orders lazy lobster, service great (thanks Laura). Would definitely recommend!! And, I am a tough critic. !
We have tried to give this place a chance multiple times. We left after being seated by the hostess and not being acknowledged by waitstaff for over 20 minutes. The place was not busy and 3 waitresses were rolling silverware gossiping about life. They noticed us several times by would walk right past our table. The time before that, we were served our food and drinks but had to ask serval different team members for our check after our waitress never returned from intially taking our order (someone else brought our food and drinks). We waiting for over an hour to get our check.
Poor servce but this is what ive been told by several people.

Wasn't packed, maybe 40% full but overworked, harried staff had no time. Food took an hour to come. Waiter apologized for long wait and brought us a bowl of potato chips when we asked for something after 45 min bc they don't have bread. Big water spill on floor went unnoticed / unmopped, kind of disconcerting thinking people might slip. No tp in bathroom. Like... none... :-/
For a semi-expensive place- we paid $40 each per entree - we expected better. Seems like the bar is their money maker and dining room is afterthought. Do not understand the great reviews....
