They have the best pizza around! Their seafood is fresh and the filet mignon is amazing! Good wine, great atmosphere and even better people! They also are very flexible with food allergies.

I want to start this review by saying that the restaurant is beautiful and the food is amazing. The girl who came to seat my party of 11 visibly seemed very exasperated when our party of 11 came in (the bistro is just that, and is most comfortable for smaller parties). When we said we would be happy splitting into two groups and sitting in the back, she brushed us off & our group had to walk over and sit ourselves. The meal was great, with the exception of one of our parties asking for water with lemon & was provided with regular water & no explanation. Our lady server continued to seem overall disinterested in serving our party. I don’t believe women should have to smile in service but she look outright distraught to be working when the restaurant was mostly empty. On the menu it clearly says “20% gratuity will be added to parties of 6 or more” (see attached screenshot). When the bill came, a total of over $300, we started asking about splitting the bill. Our server told us “I cannot split the check, figure it out”. Taken aback, our group came together putting in cash and we had JUST enough to cover the bill. When most of our party was heading to/out the door, the owner stopped a few of us (two pregnant women included) and told us we had neglected her gratuities, which we pointed out the menu said was already calculated in the total. He said it was ultimately up to the server to add it and was NOT in fact, part of the bill. We only had $8 additional dollars, which we left for her as the last of our party exited. We regrouped on the sidewalk to say our goodbyes (family coming together from as far as Maine and Georgia) and the owner followed us out, confronting my mom, again asking us why we only tipped $8. We told him she refused to split the check for us, and only THEN did he say that we could pay with various cards. No mention from the server, no mention when he originally approached us looking for gratuities. Furthermore, It’s wrong that they wouldn’t tell those customers when they sit them down that the bill couldn’t be split, ignoring the policy noted on their own menu about gratuities, only to follow the same group around asking for more money & following them into the street. Our entire group who has well over 2 decades of combined customer service and serving experience, was appalled. Many other reviews share similar experiences of poor customer care and treatment INCLUDING 2 people who were hit in the head with an attack door & were ignored by the staff! Other customers complain about waiting and being charged multiple times for other tables tabs. PLEASE consider taking your patronage to the other eateries in the area.

We wanted lunch and liked the menu. The service was friendly and prompt. My panini with side salad was great and my husband's pizza was excellent and huge. We wanted to take leftovers but had an appointment nearby and didn't want to leave the food in the warm car. They didn't hesitate to keep the box safely tucked away for a few hours. We plan to go again! Ps the bathroom was small and old fashioned but clean and smelled fresh. Always a plus!

Went here with some friends for a quick bite to eat and the service was absolutely horrible. The waitress had a bad attitude and the food was not worth the price. The bathroom was absolutely disgusting, everything inside of it was damp and dingy. Would not recommend

Terrible. Long wait for s a n d w i c h e s that tasted mediocre. Bartender sorry you need more training the worst drinks ever. Skip this place, you'll get better tasting sandwiches at Trader Joe's. Not worth the time or money.

My family tried this spot for dinner tonight and won’t be coming back again. The food, service and atmosphere were all very poor. The wings were dry and over cooked (probably the worst wings I have ever ordered at a restaurant). The pizza crust was very stiff. The dinner table was filthy and we had bees constantly flying around our heads. The waitress took a long time to wait on us, never refilled our waters, brought out my son’s french fries to the wrong table, brought me the wrong beer. They didn’t get much right tonight.Im a frequent visitor to the shipyard and this spot is by far the worst restaurant there compared to Wahlburgers, Trident, The Beth and Alma Nove. I hope this feedback helps in making the place step up and pay a bit more attention to detail.

We had been told by friends that the service at the Boathouse Bistro was bad. Our experience was that the service was good. The fish dishes were very good. We didn’t try any pizza but it did look good. The location in the Hingham Shipyard is convenient to the water. In summary our experience was better than the forewarnings that were communicated to us.

We stopped into Boathouse this evening for dinner and had a TERRIBLE experience. We waited over 55 minutes for our food to come out and when we asked the waitress about it she kept telling us “it’ll be right out.” When we stood up to leave she told us it was on the bar and asked for a credit card. We were charged the full amount despite being ignored by the entire staff for almost an hour and having to beg to get our meal to go. (You know it’s bad when the bartender’s 2 year old kid gets more attention from staff than paying patrons..)I will absolutely will not be returning to this establishment, especially when professional businesses like The Beth and Alma Nove are options.DO BETTER, BOATHOUSE.

We had not a good experience at this restaurant. Found bacon in veg sandwiches and a person was bit rude about eating food outside restaurant ordered for to-go.
