“Had the oxtail lunch plate, which came with rice and beans, cabbage and plantains, delicious! Jerk chicken mac and cheese was also very good. Owners were very pleasant and offered me a mango passion juice for my first visit. Will definitely return to check out some of the other menu items. It’s a small restaurant with limited parking so most people seemed to be doing carry out, however there are a few spots to sit and eat inside.“

“I want to start by saying this is the FIRST JAMAICAN RESTAURANT I have ever been to, with pleasant and kind employees (and I been to plenty). They were smiling and being kind, I was very impressed. The food was five stars, everything tasted exactly like it's supposed too. I also want to state, the place was very clean and the food was fresh. I would definitely come back and recommend others to come here.“

“Best AUTHENTIC Jamaican food around! May have a short wait in line or oxtails finish fast- but, overall this is the place to get your jerk pork, jerk chicken or oxtails! Flavorful and cooked well! They cater too! I have used their catering services a few times - never disappointed.“

Top Notch Health Food Jamaican •

“I went to Top Notch Stoughton location as I was passing by driving so I decided to stop in for the first time. When I walked in, they were very welcoming. I had a very pleasant conversation with Ruthie who shared a little background of what they do and about their products. Needless to say, I really enjoyed our conversation and her whole demeanor. I tried one of their smoothies I asked her to recommend and it was very delicious. Perfectly balanced. Never mind, their curry chicken patty and the veggie patty was the best! I definitely plan on going back for their smoothie and patty’s and learning more for a healthier lifestyle.“

“Food: Three words: buss. down. plates. That's what's we call flavorful food that makes you want to dance and rub your tummy, where I'm from. When I had my first bite of jerk chicken, the first thought that came to mind was: "FINALLY. Some *real* food." I moved to Boston a few months ago, and people kept telling me this recurring issue about Boston food establishments -- that the food is meant to please the New England palette and was thus mildly flavorful/lacking in spice, across the board. I'm so glad Flames proved me wrong. The jerk chicken was packed with spice/punch, the rice and peas were perfectly cooked, and the cabbage was just right. My friend had the oxtail and it was also divinely delicious. One other important detail -- the portion sizes are generous! I took my plate to-go and had the heavenly leftovers for lunch the next day. Ambiance: I loved the simple yet cultural feel of the establishment. The place is casual, but there are lovely paintings of African descendant peoples in community that adorn the walls. It made me feel so at home. Service: The service was quick here. To the point and helpful. I cannot recommend Flames enough!!! Definitely a place I will bring friends/family when trying to impress them about Boston's offerings.“

“Cleve from Only One Jamaican restaurant II in Brockton MA is the man. Cleve thanks for making our trip a memorable one. My husband and I live all the way in Norwood and we were looking for this restaurant (we couldn't remember the name), when we found it we were so happy. My husband doesn't eat rice and Cleve offered him options, instead of just dismissing him and saying, "well that's what we have" he gave suggestions and my husband was able to get a bit of raw veg and steam Cabbage to make his a meal. You know how some ppl can be a bit cross, well Cleve was very accommodating. Now; I had the oxtail and boy I must tell you, it's THE BEST oxtail I have had in a while!!! It was tender, falling off the bone juicy, so succulent! ? ? ? Mnmnmnnnn. Finger licking good! And the flavor chart is number one.The jerk chicken was fire, and the curry goat was bomb! Not gonna lie the pork looked good too. I must also mention, they have plenty of options, from 2 types of fish, to curry goat, to sweet and spicy chicken. We'll come back for more stuff. Hope you enjoy your meal as much as we did. God blessI would have added a photo but I was too busy eating it all. ? ? Delicious. Thanks again ,Cleve for making our experience a lovely one.“

“Let me tell you something! I was having a bad day. I hadn't had Roti with stewed curry goat, rice, beans and sweet plantain in almost a year. I saw the 4.1 rating so I almost did not go to this restaurant. How I would have regretted that decision. The food brought me to tears. Comfort at its finest. Absolutely delicious! The coconut pound cake had the perfect consistency and balance in sweetness. The portion size was amazing. Enough to share. I will be back. The women working up front are the sweetest. Just because someone has a serious face doesn't mean they are not a kind, caring and beautiful soul. Keep it up The Well! I also met the sweetest you men, Ringo in college at BSU he is taking up finance. He will make it far in his career. Always enjoy the now and people you meet.“

“I was one of the first to eat from here when it opened five years ago in the former D'Angelo's location. They food is outstanding, the service is friendly and the space is VERY clean. That's where the compliments stop unfortunately.Despite everywhere else in the area having reopened their dining areas, this location is still Take Out only for unexplained reasons. The McDonald's across the street was one of the first to close their dining space due to the Pandemic and was also one of the last to reopen theirs but they DID reopen their dining area. We're now almost two full years after the Pandemic ended but their dining space remains closed. The only possible explaination I can think of at this point is they're keeping the dining areas closed so they don't have to bother cleaning those spaces several times a day. Either way, they should have a sign posted letting people know if the dining area is permanently closed or no at this point. That aside, the prices on the entrees have been gradually increasing. When they first opened five years ago, the Oxtail plate came in three size options (Small, Medium and Large). In the summer of 2019 they announced due to rising prices on oxtail meat, they were dropping their Small and Large options for the Oxtail and would sell the Medium at a higher price. It started at $18 and is now $22. I like their Oxtail but I'm not willing to pay THAT much for it. I'm better off buying the meat and cooking it myself in that case. It's sad that they've decided to pass those rising costs onto their customers, most of whom live in the neighborhood--myself included. Other options have also had price increases in recent years. The pandemic sucked for everyone but and people get you need to be profitable to stay in business and pay your employees but this is really pushing it.One myth/rumor I've heard for a while that I can personally confirm is NOT true is some think the food is cooked at another location and brought there. This is NOT true. All food is cooked on site in the kitchen in the back. The food is SAFE, Sanitary and good. They also take custom requests on all orders within reason. For example if you want to mix and match certain items in the same plate, you can. Just ask.“
