It's 11:27 pm in North Central Illinois and myself and my 10 year old daughter are hanging out in the kitchen with our puppy eating a loaf of the Original Golden Buttery Bread. Thanks for assisting with this nice night!
Great bread from a bakery that really cares about their community.
I've been with East Baking since August 2022 and I can honestly say that this is the best company I've ever worked for. They teach and train you and are always great with answering questions. The best part is you are appreciated for your hard work. I've also had the pleasure of working directly with Dan (the owner) who is always willing to help you with any questions you have. How many people can say that? š
Dan was pleasant to work with and food was great
East Baking Company does not pay their freight invoices. We are currently owed $35,658.15 in unpaid freight invoices dating back to March of 2023. Company owner Dan Serra will not return phone calls. We strongly urge individuals & companies to not patronize or do business with this company.
Love their potato and brioche buns. Butterās up with some chocolate

Iāve been a key employee at East Baking Company for just under 6 months. In that time, Iāve been trained, supported, coached and praised for things that I was being ādisciplinedā on at my old job.Iāve never had a job where Iāve looked forward to work and seeing what each day has in store in my career; yet thatās what I find myself thinking day-in and day-out.This company has by-far exceeded my expectations and standards of how I should be treated and cherished at a company. Iāve seen my colleagues do amazing work and personally witnessed everyone going above and beyond to get the job done.If youāre looking for a job with a company in which you are appreciated, valued and where you truly feel ālike a teamā - look no further than East Baking Company.Dylan Vautrin(Happy) Logistics Coordinator since 12/22.

I'm only three weeks into my employment with East Baking Company but I can say that it's been nothing but wonders! They've given me excellent training and the staff are always open to answering questions. There is always something to do in the office, making your day fly by. The work environment is very friendly with lots of teamwork. Overall, a great experience thus far.
Love working here, a great company thatās employee driven. Here is our Italian Twist Bread.

If I could rate this ābusinessā zero stars I would.I would just like to share my disappointing experience of working for Dan Serra. He came to Burlington, IA over a year ago with big plans for a new bread plant in downtown Burlington.Once he was ready for samples, he began hiring staff (a very good staff, at that) and very shortly after brought in some āhelpā from the east coast. On HIS team of people, it was decided it would be a good idea to bring a puppy into the plant. Where that puppy proceeded to run around through the offices, urinate on product, and chew on peopleās shoes as they walked through. Now can this please be explained to me how that is sanitary in any way? Or can it please be explained to me how it is okay to use the same vacuum hose we use on the filthy floors on our dough and sponge mixers while we clean them? Disgusting. My next problem was having to walk through the offices and hear Dan screaming and cussing at his management team, via phone call.He has even gone as far as calling his employees āmoronsā which I witnessed myself. Very demeaning. The last straw for me is when Dan came to the plant the first day of production, around 2 weeks ago. (Dan wasnāt there frequently, because he āhatesā Iowa.)Dan then proceeds to come in and tornado through the plant. Once Dan began grabbing my shoulders and maneuvering me around to do jobs I was not trained on, I went to another team of management and made them aware I was going home because I was not going to put up with being treated the way I was.Dan and his team from MA has promised countless things to his employees that he hasnāt followed through on. (Ex. Holiday pay, PTO time, Etc.) I had not even had access to my pay stubs the whole time I was employed here.Dan couldnāt care less about his employees, he will fire you the second he deems you as āworthlessā and is done using you.I am very grateful I was one who was able to leave the company on my own terms, without being fired. I canāt say the same for many others who have been fired and essentially have had their lives ruined by Dan Serra. From what I have gathered in the few times I have personally associated with this man, is that he is a liar and a fraud. This is not coming from a disgruntled employee, this is coming from a 22 year old woman who took a risk to work for Dan Serra and later realized that was a detrimental mistake. Mentally and financially.I hope one day soon that everyone sees Dan Serra for the man he really is. He very clearly cares about money, not people. Thanks for reading.
We work at the Iowa plant. We have yet to see disgruntled former employees who are terminated because they are unable to perform their duties from having a single positive thing to say. Thereās always 2 sides to every story.
