Attempted to go get breakfast here but the parking lot doesn't even have spaces painted. Then you cant even tell if you are gonna get towed or not because 70% of the lot is for the church next door and the other place still has signage for Mel's diner which doesn't exist anymore. Especially with a cop hanging out in the parking lot just watching for people accidentally choose the wrong option.

I grew up eating at Mel’s and I was excited to be able to have that spaghetti again. Everyone in our family enjoyed their food, shepherd’s pie, fish and chips and the mushroom burger. The staff was warm and welcoming!

Very nice to have an eatery back at this location. Homemade food combined with congenial service has made this a regular and convenient place to either grab something quick at the bar, or congregate for a nice leisurely evening.

The owner, Ora, is friendly and attentive, along with her staff.

Sunday is brunch, so be aware, but given the lack of good brunch places in the area, it is nice to have this as an option!

Nothing short of delightful. From the soup / salad options, sandwich and fish and chip options to the coffee and dessert. Just a wonderful place that also knows how to pour a great guinness among other lovely drinks.

Very clean, staff is very attentive and nice and the food is great. We enjoy the atmosphere and it is always nice to interact with Mrs Mitchell. She runs a tight ship which is nice to see and she is very sweet. We have been a few times since it opened and everything is consistent so we know what to expect and are never disappointed.

They have white pudding and black pudding. For me, that’s enough of a draw. But otherwise their breakfasts are first rate. No windows, but that’s no big issue. It’s a nice place.

Where do I begin: 18.99 for spaghetti and sause and tiny salad. The beef stew smelled and taste horrible. Sent it back. The lance crackers were probably in the cabinets when the restaurant was Mel's as they were old and stale. This place is cheap on the spaghetti sause, I mean very little added. The inside is filthy, no wonder there were only 6 people in the place. I can see this place going out of business in about a year if not earlier.
Do not recommend at all!
