On Wednesday our family of 5 went to this location for the Hibachi which the 3 kids and us really enjoy because of the show the put on and the fun atmosphere. However, this time was VERY different! There was absolutely NO show at all, and when mentioned, the chef said he could still do it and asked "what do they usually do for the show", even though the food was almost finished cooking. When we inquired with a Manager we were told that they are sorry but they cant just get more food to do the show and now werent able to do it! The kids were upset because everyone around us was getting a show and we werent. We later learned that this chef and another chef were brand new. However, this shouldnt make any difference and it isnt the chefs fault either, becuase the management should train their chefs how to do the shows and if they cant do them, allow other chefs that can, to do them, rather then not do it at all and still charge the customers the full hibachi price! We still had to pay the full prices as if we had the show and there was no discounts offered due to this extremely failed visit. If you visit this location I'd highly recommend asking if the chef your getting knows how to do the full show before sitting down and expecting it and then not getting it! K's in Westfield MA does a much better job and has a smaller place! Super excellent hibachi and show! Highly recommend this location over Sumos!

Seated quickly and that's where the energy faded. Took awhile for beverage order to be taken, even longer for delivery. Plastic cup of 7-Up(ish) had a strange odor along with little taste. Appetizer showed up just before hibachi chef. I will admit he did put on a bit of a display, interacting with the birthday guy. Interesting display preparing food, however, squirting one salty sauce after another on all the entrees and vegis. My mahi mahi was tender and not over cooked, however the delicate flavor was overwhelmed by the liberal application of sauces. Vegetables where also cooked very well, but once again the flavor from the sauce overwhelmed their natural taste.I asked for plain rice rather than fried rice (more sauces) - it finally arrived halfway through my meal, once I asked where it was. I'm typing this about one hour after eating - I am so very parched.As to atmosphere, banging drums, chefs banging utensils etc, did not make for a relaxing dinner, but I suppose that is appealing to a certain variety of diner - each to there own.

The food is good however Sumo is a complete rip off which sucks because I do like them. They give you the same rice and vegetables portion for lunch and dinner however the price is higher. Then with a combo that doesn’t have a lunch portion so they charge you dinner price for lunch portion. The picture below is a dinner combo which was 36 dollars no way that portion is worth 36 and definitely not a dinner portion. I am highly disappointed you get more food than that when you actually sit down and eat.

The sushi here is AWESOME!! Don't know much about the rest (I ordered to go), but I'm eager to try other items??I will DEFINITELY be coming back!!

The place inside is honestly beautiful, I Wondered why I hadn't been here before. The sushi was phenomenal, I loved the "kiss of fire" specialty roll. Didn't try the hibachi though.

WARNING CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS. Disappointed with this place. Not only our waitress was horrible taking simple orders but she charged us for an extra meal. We sat at the Hibachi table, the cook went over our meals. There was 4 of us and he mentioned 5 meals. We kept correcting him letting him know there’s only 4 meals (4 people 4 meals). We notice he puts a carry out plate at the end of our table. Every time he puts food on our plates he puts some on the carry out plate. Once he is done cooking he takes the carry out plate with him. We didn’t say anything about it until we receive our bill. They where charging us for that meal. We talked to the manager and explain the situation. He calls the waitress and she snatches the receipt out his hand and tells him I’ll take care of it. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing, I will never go there again. Please check your receipts before paying in this place. The worst part is ? they include the tip as part of the bill. I should be the one to determine what the tip is based on the level of service that I receive. Waitresses will do a much better job if they knew their tip was based on the service they provided. When you include the tip as part of the bill your servers are just going to be half asking and not provide the level of service that your looking for.

There are big hibachi tables all over. We sat in a mostly quiet and private booth. There were a lot of birthdays it seemed, and some of the time the hibachi chefs were banging for an extended time. The food and the drink were very good. I would come back.

Light fixtures above dining tables are extremely dusty. Both times we went, it took the waiter 15 minutes to come ask for drinks. Our drinks took an additional 10 minutes. And then food took over 45 minutes to come. Food was good but we will be looking for other hibachi places.

We had a great birthday meal tonight. The staff was extremely attentive. Dennis was on top of everything. The chef was funny and cooked a great meal. One thing we like about Sumo is the chairs are normal height and not stools. It's much easier for older and younger guests.
