Came in at 5:35 looking to try their empanadas, guy looked at me like I didn’t belong there even through I spoke perfect Spanish to him to try and break the ice (maybe he didn’t like that) I don’t mean no offense just trying to practice my Spanish. The lady asked me what I wanted and I told her a chicken empanada, at which point the gentleman that gave me a dirty look said we’re closed. Okay, why are you open until 6. Kind of found it rude but can’t just based solution on that, not sure what their food is but hope it’s better than the cook’s attitude. Good luck 🍀

Decided to check it out after finding on Google mainly to try their Mofongo/ground plaintain along with grilled breast, garlic, oil, onions & peppers sauce. It was amazing 😳 I'm a fan & found a new favorite spot.

Food is Amazing! Always get the Pernil, yellow rice and beans. The restaurant is spacious and very clean. Always greeted with a smile, usually the Owners. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND trying this restaurant.

Fresh, fast, yummy Dominican food. Buffet style, but you can order ahead for special things like fried red snapper or mofongo (mashed plantain) with shrimp in garlic sauce!

Dear god, this place is good. Just simple traditional Caribbean food served in huge portions, absolutely awe inspiring
. It’s just a simple luncheon storefront, but you’re not there for the atmosphere. It’s the mouth watering perfection of the food.

If you're the type who loves to discover ethnic, storefront restaurants serving great food, you will LOVE this place. If you prefer someplace fancy with more formal service, skip it. (That will make it easier for me.) This is one of the many Latin restaurants in Holyoke that serves lots of yummy options out of a steam table (like stewed chicken, rice, beans, maybe even some oxtail). They do that here too, and it's good. BUT what makes this place so special are the all carte menu items. Like fried whole snapper or shrimp mofungo. They were incredible! In fact, it may be the most flavorful shrimp dish I've had since moving to Western MA 3 years ago.
There's one more reason to go: Carlos the chef/owner. He's incredibly frriendly and loves talking about food. (Which is next to music in my favorite things to discuss)They were wrapping up for the day when we were there (they close at 7 and we showed up around 6:30) and he made us feel so welcome. While the staff were getting ready for the next day, he came and chatted with us. This guy loves food and he loves making customers happy. How can you not love a place like that?
Also, don't be surprised if the peson you talk doesn't speak English. But don't let that stop you. You can always point.

Food was fresh, flavorful and AUTHENTIC Puerto Rican. Our family tried the rice, beans, baked chicken, shrimp empanadas, mofongo, yuca, pork ribs and ALL of it was delicious. It's not a high end looking place, but it's the perfect place for reasonably priced hot plates, quick and friendly service! The owner approached our table and asked how our meal was. We felt so welcomed and truly enjoyed our dining experience. When we are back in the area we will make sure to visit here again! 👌

Tried for the first time 2 days ago and I’m still suffering. Classic symptoms of food poisoning; I missed work yesterday with a high fever and haven’t eaten in 36 hours. $17 for a medium lunch and soda and violently ill. I won’t be back!
