Let me save you the trouble: do not eat at Embargo in Hyannis — unless you're okay with being scolded, accosted, and publicly embarrassed by the owner’s mother, a woman named Nicki, who is apparently allowed to run wild through the restaurant like an angry cruise director on her last nerve.

We went on a date night here last night and it was so good we took our family and mother in law back here tonight. Food was SO good and service was great- both our waitresses were super sweet. My mother in law said it was the best flatbread she has ever had and I absolutely loved the ceviche. We will definitely be back when we are in the cape again!
Outstanding food, drinks service and music! The lobster bisque, oysters and martinis were delicious! The service was excellent, we will definitely return.

emBargo offers a variety of delicious dishes like short ribs, sesame crusted tuna, and tapas selections including eggplant parm and lamb lollipops. The service remains top-notch, with attentive and knowledgeable staff welcoming guests with smiles. The atmosphere is fun, making it a great place to enjoy cocktails and tapas. Many customers have enjoyed sitting outside on beautiful nights, adding to the overall experience. The menu features delicious small plates, such as fried chicken tacos and scallops with bacon, corn, and honey, which are highly praised. The bar offers an extensive drink menu, including many martinis and cocktails, with a happy hour that starts when they open, where most tapas are half off—except for some items marked with an asterisk. The service is consistently excellent, with staff explaining menu details clearly. While some dishes like the spring roll have been noted for lacking flavor, others, including the eggplant parm, remain favorites. The dessert menu, including Vanilla Crème Brûlée, is also appreciated. Overall, emBargo provides a lively and enjoyable dining experience that encourages guests to return.
