Stopped by today around 830ish to discover they were closed with a sign that said “CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE!” with lights on and everything. So as you can imagine, I was just as shocked to see they were closed so early. It’s sad when neighborhoods staples like this come to an end. I was sure this place was gonna be one of those fast food places that was or sure would stick around for awhile longer. Hopefully this was just a short hiccup in the moment and looking forward...
Authentic Mexican food right in the heart of Jamaica Plain. Cross the street from the Forest Hills T station to grab some tacos or a burrito, then enjoy some homemade flan and a pineapple Jarritos. Grab and go or stay in and eat at the counter. Either way, Achilitos can't be beat.
Plan ahead if you're driving there. Street parking is very limited. Or you could park at the Forest Hills T station then cross the street. Your best bet is to take the train...

Achalito's is sorta like Chipotle if Chipotle was much, much better. You can build your burrito, bowl, tacos, or whatever as you move down the line choosing from a wider variety and fresher ingredients than what Chipotle offers, and you'll wind up paying about the same price. They also have a menu you can order off of if you don't want to build your own (I always order off the menu, they have tons of great options).
