“A very detailed review from someone who has eaten a lot of tapas!Outstanding bartender! I’ve been a bit disappointed lately when I go into high-end cocktail bars, and they don’t have ingredients I need for making my favorite drinks. Not only was this bartender excellent and knowledgeable, but as I was naming my favorite drink, he knew it, and he loved it as well. I ordered off the menu though, and enjoyed the “kitty’s got claws” because I am a big Mezcal fan and it looked interesting. It was beautifully balanced. Then I saw him making what I thought was a corpse reviver, and we talked a bit about that, and I was thrilled that he knew how to make one, so as I watched him making one for somebody else. I ordered it as my second drink. I know I’m supposed to be reviewing the food, and I will get to that, but a quality bartender, who is interesting and fun, and above all… Knowledgeable, is a very big part of an experience that has a full bar. Bravo, to this bartender! I only wish I remembered his name.On to the food. Interesting interpretation of tapas. Especially the cabbage, which was different than any presentation I have had before. A large piece, braised perfectly, with a creamy sauce. Patatas bravas were an interesting take as well. Often they are either too small with a bit of sauce smothered on them or they are too big and only spiced a little bit. These were a great size and they were seasoned, but did not have any sauce on them, which is wonderful. And then there was some romesco sauce (made of tomatoes and roasted red peppers, and usually almonds) on the side; a really great interpretation of this classic Spanish dish. (Note that a typical bravas sauce has smoked paprika and tomato paste) and I really enjoyed the romesco as a nice change. We also had a lamb slider, which was big enough for lunch for one person. So keep that in mind when ordering. It was actually halfway between the size of a slider and a regular burger. Also, the homemade focaccia was very fluffy! The rosemary butter is a good compliment.Atmosphere is cute. Loud and bustling and definitely not the type of place that is quiet and you can hear the forks clinking. Really great vibe. Wonderful neighborhood place. We lived in JP for years and raised our kids here and it was great to come back and see this new (to us!) restaurant in the neighborhood.”

“I stopped in here with a friend after a long walk and I'm so glad we went here. We got there not too much before closing, but they were just as friendly and accommodating as if we got there first thing. They have a ton of options, including plenty for vegetarians and vegans. I got the breakfast burrito (as I am seemingly always craving one) and my friend got the caprese. I was tempted by the treats they had in the display case, but we opted just to get our sandwich/burrito. Our food came out quickly and was perfectly made. I really appreciated that the egg in my burrito was bodega-style which made it so much less messy to eat. My friend practically devoured her sandwich; she thought the maple balsamic was so tasty and the veggies and pesto were really fresh. She has food allergies and was really happy with how much they laid out what was and wasn't in the food. They had convenient parking and plenty of outdoor tables. I will definitely come back when I'm in town.”

“I really love this place, the food and drinks are great, especially since it’s so close to home, work and daughter’s school. I’ve lived in the area my entire life and I understand the crowd here for the most part is very laid back and chill but I think it’s so rude to not have a sense of urgency when you see you have a line of people waiting to order and it’s the morning rush time. I want my tea and I plan accordingly to get it so I can arrive to work on time but it takes me 15 min easily because I have to wait for the employee to finish talking about their hair appointment…inconsiderate and rude.”

“I had heard about this place for years but never made time for it, which I regret! The food was absolutely amazing. It exceeded my expectations based even on great reviews. The roast chicken was moist and flavorful throughout, without being greasy. The yucca was so good--it looked plain but the soft texture and subtle flavor was so good. As far as service, everyone was very nice and crucially didn't make fun of the bad Spanish I used to order. On my short list now for excellent Boston under the radar food spots.”

“The very first thing that I would advise you to do is to RUN to their instagram and hit the follow button! This is because they do weekly weekend brunch giveaways. Yes, you heard that correctly! It's usually a brunch for two; you get two entrees and a stack of whatever pancakes you choose (excluding steak and seafood). I've won a couple times already which has given myself and my significant other to try multiple things off of their menu. I'm a sucker for a good mocktail (as I was prego and currently nursing), not only do they have good cocktails but the mocktails hit as well. It's very lively, beautiful establishment, bright during the day, the music is fun, makes you want to get up and dance while you're in the middle of eating. The food is really, really good. The only thing I will say is that I wish the menu was bigger with more options. The staff are always welcoming, smiling and overall look happy to be at work. They also host different events too which is cool, one time when I was there for brunch, they were setting up balloons and decor for a valentines dinner event.”

“Moved to the neighborhood in June. First time going here. Heard the gyros were good and that their chicken was good. So I decided to try both. The recommendations were not wrong. That was absolutely delicious. Great cuts of chicken. Soft and tender. Normally take out chicken is tough and gristly. I’ve never eaten 10 buffalo tenders in one sitting before. I did today. The gyro was very tasty. Simple basic ingredients that compliment each other. If this is how the rest of the menu is, it is definitely a perk to living over here. Two thumbs up…”

“We were very surprised to find that this place had excellent food, we had the salmon teriyaki and the bento shrimp and beef, big portions of proteins and veggies, well cooked and well seasoned. Good service, the guys very friendly, fast and easy, not pricey at all, another surprise, we had a good lunch. It's located in a busy small plaza, and the parking lot is kind of small, lots of cars coming in and out, other than this, it's a good place to eat if you are in the area.”

“I never thought to find a very authentic Colombian restaurant in Boston. My friend moved to this area to be closer to his work. Him and his buddies all grew up with authentic South American, Caribbean, and dishes with a strong kick of flavors. Everything was so delicious down to the T. Our waiter was so knowledgeable and he gave us good tips on how to even order our breakfast signature smoothies. My drink was a passion fruit smoothie so I had the option to select it with milk or water. Went with the water choice but he made a face and nudged me to try with milk. It's not a common mixture but it worked out quite well. Forgot to take pictures of the drink because I couldn't stop myself from finishing it. Thanks for the great advice. My friends who suggested this place came back the second time they were visiting Boston. They had the specials so just settled on the traditional breakfast items like omelettes and pancakes. I will say we did get the blueberry mascarpone cheese pancakes. Two stacks of rolled fresh off the stove pancakes and the steam was still leaving the pancake. So mellowed and perfect in sweet levels and taste. I was in love. But that wasn't the end of that breakfast love affair. Because I was a first timer, I was recommended to get the Calentado, traditional Colombian breakfast. There was no flaw with this dish. As a girl who loves pork dishes of all the animals to eat, I made my way through each item one by one. Started from the chicharon, to the rice and beans with the arepa butter and cheese on top, and finally the scrambled eggs with tomatoes and scallions. This was the wake up breakfast I needed after a late night rock concert and Mario Kart because you were too wired to go back to sleep. A good breakfast booth experience in Boston away from seafood and good for a gal who grew up with this type of food.”
