A favorite restaurant, indeed. Food was delicious and enjoyed heartily but all, 2 kids included.

Ordered take away. Food prep was quick. Food quality was great. Really enjoyed the haggis and Shepards pie the taste really took me back to Edinburgh. I lived in Scotland for nearly 5 years and I felt the food quality at The Haven was excellent and really captured the flavors of Scotland.

A very cool loft-style restaurant, a former brewery. The building holds a lot of history. Incredibly delicious food and good service. Delicious cocktails too. I recommend visiting.

Found The Haven via Eater’s list of best fish and chips in Boston. The fish dinner was definitely delicious - crispy, tasty, with homemade tartar sauce and ketchup - but the Haddie Croquettes were exceptional. Smoked haddock, potatoes and, apparently, magic were well-balanced and perfectly seasoned, and the cherry chili aioli was delicious and an inventive accompaniment (also yummy with the fish and the chips). Service was excellent, very friendly. I went back looking for a lost earring, and Gabriella took my number and a photo of the other earring to share with the staff WhatsApp group. She thoughtfully texted me this morning to tell me that unfortunately it hadn’t been found. Truly above and beyond. Thank you! Please give her a gold star and a raise.

Stopped into The Haven's new location for a late lunch and had a fabulous time. Bailey made me a great drink and took great care of us. The shepherd's pie is made with a braised lamb, and was exactly what I wanted to start the new season. Looking forward to returning soon!

We live out of town and hadn't been here since the early days in the other spot and were disappointed in the food. The first disappointment was my own because I wanted haggis and didn't read up and see there isn't any at lunch. I will say the seafood plate was excellent. We missed the little flag in the burger. And the sticky toffee pudding was...not sticky toffee pudding. It was cake so dry that if not for the ice cream (ice cream??) it would have stuck in our throat.
Maybe we are victims of our own nostalgia, and I will say the service was excellent: efficient, pleasant, even friendly (for Boston! lol)

We love this spot and it’s only down the street from us. Amazing food and great service. However we have never been told that there are no more free refills for sodas on tap and just got charged ~$13 each for a couple glasses of Coke.

I’m not one to complain because at the end of the day running a restaurant is a business. This felt a bit ridiculous.

I’m in from out of town and I’ve been on a mission to eat some Shepard’s Pie while in Boston. I went to three different Irish Pubs and restaurants and they didn’t have it. Finally found it here. Deep Fried Mars Bar was a little small, but was absolutely delicious! Dog friendly patio! Great food. Great service. Great atmosphere.

Food was good, although somewhat average, but the waiter created a negative experience for us. Please also ask the landlord to clean the shared bathrooms more frequently, they are really unpleasant!

Great experience with Gabi on bar! Burger was delicious and the “half pints” are a cute touch.

Great spot in the heart of JP for hearty Scottish food and a pint! The sassich and mash was buttery with delicious gravy and nice accompaniment of veggies. One of the few places to find thick, creamy, and smokey cullen skink. Dining hall and bar has some rustic but funky decorations.

This is where I take my friends when they visit Boston. I’ve been a loyal customer since the Hyde Square days, and it’s only gotten better. The scotch list is exquisite. The food is perfect. Service is prompt, attentive, and considerate. I can’t say enough good things about The Haven.
