The Haven is quiet, cozy, and very friendly. The source of the menu is Scotland, home of haggis and salmon and shepherd's pie. I'm a vegetarian. But I need not have worried. The watermelon gazpacho was amazing, as were the beet salad and five-cheese pizza I shared with a friend. If you are feeling peace, try the deep fried mars bar for dessert. No kidding.
Great burger! Sticky toffee pudding had great flavor but a bit dry- needs more sauce, should be very moist! Other than that - first time there and loved the ambience, service and food & beer!
This was our third visit to the Haven, one of my favorite restaurants. HMy husband and I came with our extended family this time to celebrate our anniversary. I was a little nervous how everyone would receive Scottish food but everyone enjoyed their meals. Fish & chips, burgers and hunter's chicken all came to the table nice and hot (always a concern with this crowd.) The only complaint was from my father-in-law who didn't quite understand the concept of mushy peas served cold. Sticky toffee pudding for dessert was delicious but served without the sticky toffee sauce. Service was attentive. Definitely a winning experience overall!
First visit after moving to the neighborhood. Loved the fish and chips, shepherd's pie and salmon we ordered. Sadly they were out of the haggis - next time!
Great ambiance , food and drink selection . Poached eggs cooked to perfection. Scottish sausages not overly greasy. Curt but cordial service.
The Haven is the best Scottish restaurant in Boston and also one of the best restaurants of any kind. The food is delicious -- consistently great -- the atmosphere is chill and unfussy, and you can get anything from a perfectly-affordable beer/cocktail to some of the world's highest-end whiskies. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. We really love the food, the vibe, and the people.
Last time I went to The Haven was several years ago at their old location and loved it. I had just come back from a trip to Scotland and wanted to relive the experience. I was so glad to read about the new Haven, as I sadly thought The Haven had closed. The new restaurant is large, tall ceilings very impressive woodwork, decorated with lovely artwork and a charming outside patio. Elegant and modern but at the same time comfy. A friend and I recently went for the brunch. Everything was excellent! We did not order the haggis though - ha! Had the smoked fish cakes and fish sandwich (delectable)! Fries were superbe, followed by a rich Scotch creme brulee. All really delicious. They also have a litany of beers and whiskies of all sorts. The waitress who served us was lovely and very patient - I could not make up my mind as to what to order! Definitely going back. Thanks to all!
Wonderful as always - love this little piece of Scotland in my backyard! Great whisky collection too! Only thing I'd love to see is maybe more IPA's from Scotland and maybe a few more Speyside selections
Fantastic neighborhood treasure! Great vibes! Reliably great food. Stellar service. Great music. Nice outdoor patio scene. + charming host.
Fun spot in Boston. Authentic Scottish vibe and fare. Lovely lunch outside, fish and chips was perfect. Have to go back for haggis - dinner only!

I suggested the Haven for a recent business centered meeting with a group because I knew it was a great spot: ample parking, good seating, amazing food. So it was no surprise that when everyone took their first bites of food it was a unanimous “wow this is so good”. The quality has always been top notch. I'm sorry to have forgotten our servers name but she was kind, attentive, and accommodating. Great experience all around!
Our favorite restaurant for a dram and great food. Wonderful staff. And a great atmosphere! 100/10 will always recommend!
One of the better restaurants in the Boston area. You can tell they care about what they're doing
Really Great food and superb service. I don't know how they do it!!! Every time it's just a lovely experience.
The Haven is our favorite local restaurant. The vibe is welcoming, the food is always utterly delicious, they are open all the time (including weekday lunches), and it's just always the answer to the question, "Where should we go eat?"
