Best coffee in town. Hands down. The problem, though, is that Kevin is a lil drink wizard so it's all but impossible to settle into a regular order because you'll want to try everything. Not to mention the joy of a physical media rental store existing in 2025. I STRONGLY recommend the memberships if you have a DVD player and like watching movies. Bonus: It's also Queer Allied (step up from Queer-Friendly!) and the benefit of having a place outside of your home to just take a breath and get a lil sweet treat cannot be understated.

They have one one of the best coffee in town.
Price is right. My favorite is the iced caramel latte. I bought their coffee beans for the first time, and OMG!!! Every sip is heaven. So fresh, and perfect taste.

A hidden gem. Little coffee shop has become a community staple for a lot of people, and their movie rental/memberships are a really cool touch. My main reason for leaving this review though is that this shop roasts all their coffee in-house (I believe), and they do a fine job of it. I'm, very unfortunately, one of those people who can't do caffeine, and so I'm stuck with all of the normal bitter and awful decaf aftertastes. The Vu and their team makes some of the best decaf coffee I've been able to find anywhere. It's smooth, flavorful, and doesn't slap you in the face with notes of pennies and formaldehyde. So I'd just like to extend a heartfelt 'thanks' to the Vu. I live right down the road, so it has been wonderful to get some good coffee and enjoy the morning routine rather than dread the beverage, or opt to skip it entirely.

Whenever I visit a friend in the area I make sure to visit this unique cafe. I love the video store atmosphere, and the owners know their craft in both movies and coffee. Recently tried their concentrated cold brew to take home and it was excellent.

The VU is an essential staple to the Jamaica Plain neighborhood. Not only is the coffee excellent and affordable, but it's always great to chat with the hosts and pick out a fun movie or two to bring home.

Incredible latte. I got the L'avventura latte with oat milk and it blew my mind! Also extremely reasonable prices compared with other cafes in the area
