We had a very negative experience with the attitude of the staff. My friend arrived early for our reservations. It's a long story, but the way he was treated in such a condescending way with disrespect was inexcusable. We decided to leave. Luckily, we ended up going to Gateways Inn for dinner. I know many people rave about Bistro Zinc, but we'll never eat there again. Thank you, Kevin

I’ve had some delicious Burgers in some really nice restaurants during my lifetime. Last night I had the best burger I have ever eaten in my life at Zinc Bistro! Cooked to perfection, melt in your mouth, amazing roll, fantastic taste! I’m hooked!

Bistro Zinc is a charming spot in Lenox with a nice atmosphere. They start you off with warm bread and butter, which is a nice touch. We ordered the crispy goat cheese salad which included peaches, blueberries, and a nice lemon and honey vinaigrette. Main was beef bourguignon that included mashed potatoes. The salad was fresh, and the goat cheese was perfectly crispy, beef bourguignon was flavorful, though slightly on the salty side, mashed potatoes were a nice touch. Overall, it was a lovely meal with attentive service. I would return.

Tuna appetizer was great and highly recommend the pork chop
I have lived in the Berkshires for over 30 years and have enjoyed many a good meal at Zinc, however, last weekend when a friend and I walked in just for drinks we were greeted with such coolness. The server slapped the menus on the bar and said she was in a meeting and would be back.It was around 4;45 so I understad that is early but they said they were open for drinks.I was the one to smile and say hello. We got up and left.Years ago our adult daughter and her friends were treated so poorly;made to wait an hour even though they had reservations, were then rushed to leave. Another friend years ago was told to leave right before New Years eve because the table was reserved. They were not provided with a complimentary glass, nor escorted to the bar.Simply told to leave after spendings hundreds of dollars there. So Bisto Zinc, its a small year round community here from November to April. As I have had to point out to Guidos best not to estrange your bread and butter through the dark, cold months. I will never go again and have told numerous people of my experience.

Overpriced and overrated.
The duck was OK. The flounder was almost burnt. The other fish was nothing special. Dumplings were undercooked. The onion soup had a ridiculous slab of molten cheese on it that was literally all over the dish inside out.

Rarely is a restaurant consistent in a tourist area. . So it is with Zinc. But the front room could be in Paris. It`s loveliness is a worthy destination by itself. Berkshire sun pouring through the many windows: unforgettable. Relatively small menu, read it carefully. Duck was duck hash, for example. The back room, with the bar, is nice, but not up to the front. Last night was on the downside. Three of four meals were an expensive disappointment. But given the pleasure we've had at other times, certainly another visit will occur.

Worst restaurant experience in my life. 3 people, 2 soups, one appetizer took over 2 hours to get served. Other customers were coming and going… being served and we still had not received our 2 salads and 1 sandwich. When we told our waitress this was unacceptable she became combative with me. She kept telling us that the front over booked patrons … why then was she able to turn over so many other tables the entire time we waited. When we told the manager how slow the service was and how combative the waitress was… a patron who had just been seated - who knew NOTHING about how long we had been waiting and how terrible our service was… had the nerve to but in and was defending the waitress. I asked him to mind his own business and he … then with such an intelligent manner told me to F..k off. I hope he’s proud of himself and will consider taking a course on manners!!!! Steer clear of this restaurant. Unless of course you have nothing to do but kill time and don’t mind being treated like a big inconvenience to this establishment.

We had a delicious and fun dinner recently with our daughter, her boyfriend and his parents. We sat in the bar area which is our favorite location. I ordered the trout and was very happy as it was perfect, buttery but not overly so and cooked correctly. I lived in France with a family and the mother was a fabulous cook. This trout brought me back to living in Rouen in the 70’s and Madame’s cooking! Service was attentive. Servings were generous. Great locally owned restaurant.
