The food is fantastic and the location is private and decadently decorated. The shame is that they are closing for 1 year for renovations. My wife and I enjoyed a date here and it was our second time. The food is so beautiful it is almost a shame to eat it. The multi course meal option I feel is the only way to dine. you have a choice of appetizer as well as an entrée, followed by a dessert and this is what dinner should be everywhere. There is no limitation to what you can choose in the price is the same across the board. I got a beautiful tuna tartare and my wife got a goat cheese beet salad. It was beautiful and we both got amazing entrées in the filet and duck pate linguine. We got a dessert soufflé and homemade cheesecake that were to die for. Once they re-open in a year we will certainly return! We also enjoyed a nice glass of wine and after dinner cocktail in the lounge to sit by the fire and chatted with a great couple for quite some time. Great atmosphere and we will definitely be back.

My wife and I had very different opinions of our experience here. She said she thought it was a five-star place but I felt it was three stars. Given the price point, I expected to be wowed but that didn’t happen. In fact, I really could not even find a single entrée that appealed to me. For appetizers, my wife had the ceviche and I agreed that that was quite good. I had octopus over eggplant and it was just OK. Our waitress was very enthusiastic about the duck breast and my wife went for that and seemed to really enjoy it. For lack of anything more appealing than a steak, I ordered the steak. It was fine but given the price I didn’t think it was a whole lot better than something I could’ve made myself at home. The wines by the glass were an average of $20 each at the lower end. The full wine list by the bottle is certainly impressive and you probably will be wild if you want a 1961 bottle of Petrus for more than $5000. I wasn’t really looking for that. I found it somewhat stuffy and pretentious and disappointing. My wife said I was completely off the mark and she thought it was just fine and one of the best restaurants She has dined out. I will add that she ordered a French sour cocktail that did look spectacular. I was impressed when the bartender came out and spritzed her magnificent cocktail with two squirts of Single malt scotch to add some flavor to it. I think that was probably the highlight of the meal, at least for me.

Delicious food with fascinating pedigrees, two SUPERB bottles, one of champagne, the other from Burgundy, a joyful birthday dessert, and such friendly and knowledgeable staff! Certainly worth waiting for! ??

My husband and I have eaten at some great places, including 11 Madison Park in NYV and this restaurant easily stands up to all of them! Worth every penny!

We have eaten at the Blantyre previously and it never fails to impress. The ambiance is glorious, the food superb, and the service, impeccable. It is an expensive evening for a special occasion....extras add up quickly. It was a special evening. The French Sours, Filet Mignon, and Rack of Lamb were delicious. The duck mousse, grilled octopus, and mango dessert were excellent. Portions were adequate. I would highly suggest that they bring back their Sunday brunch! We miss it!

Service and food impeccable. A bit annoying that at $94pp there was a $10 upcharge for rack of lamb. Wine and cocktails very expensive.

Delicious food in gorgeous surroundings. The service was very good. I am not a dessert person but opted for the mango-basil sorbet? OMG. I think the favorite part of my meal.

The food was excellent, well-prepared and cooked to perfection. Service very attentive. Wine list was in our opinion much too large and should be pared down. There were some reasonable priced bottles, but many expensive ones. Overall, a very positive experience.

The wait-staff was impeccable, the food was outstanding from the first course to the third, the wine we chose was lovely and the desserts were things of beauty...artfully and tastefully designed. We loved our experience!

The Boulud takeover of Blantyre is a hugely welcome upgrade. We had stopped coming here years ago as the menu was tired and the service and ambiance stuffy. Our last meal (their attempt to mimic Wheatleigh's amazing summer BBQ) was a disaster. Now comes Daniel Boulud to the rescue. The food and service were excellent. The $97 prix fixe menu was actually reasonably priced for the quality. The wine list is still overpriced but if you have the means there are some incredible wines to choose from. We had a splits of Bollinger with our apps (amazing gazpacho and ceviche) and a 2005 Margaux with our lamb. The only complaint was that things felt a bit rushed. Our apps arrived while we were still enjoying our incredibly creative Epic Gin and Tonic and before the champagne arrived. Our mains were ready just as we were finishing and before we could open our red wine. A little better pacing and this would have been one of our best Berkshire meals ever. That title still goes to the tasting menu at Wheatleigh but it's close. We will definitely add this back to the rotation.

Again a magical experience, starting with cocktails while listening to Blantyre's wonderful pianist, then dinner on the terrace, to coffee again while serenaded by music. Our group dined on the shrimp risotto appetizers and then lamb chops and filet. The dishes were exquisitely prepared and meat cooked perfectly. The service at this restaurant is truly exceptional. I had always enjoyed Cafe Boulud on the Upper East Side, but the entire experience at Blantyre is truly out of this world. I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough.
