Frankie's was a nice place to eat, but it's important to keep things in perspective because in this area there are several other places to eat that are even better. I didn't like that they seated a table right next to ours when there were 10 other empty tables for 2 available. That's right, immediately after we were seated they seated the next party right beside us while the rest of the dining room was empty. I understand that as a restaurant fills up that all of the tables need to be utilized, however it would be a much better balance to space people out so they feel comfortable and not crowded. The tables are rather close together and I prefer to have more personal space while dining. The food was good. Good, not bad and not great. The service was good overall. Some staff was friendly and some was neutral. Overall we had a nice meal, but I wouldn't go out of my way to dine there again, especially since there are other options in the area that I enjoyed more.

Best calamari I've ever eaten; small, tender rings, lightly battered and perfectly fried. Their chicken marsala had awesome mushrooms.

I highly recommend the Caprese starter!

The seafood pasta was requested in a white garlic sauce instead of FRA Diavlo. The pieces of seafood, especially the pieces of lobster were rubbery, difficult to get out of the shell. and the sauce was watery. The bolognese pasta was just like a meat sauce. I wish it had been creamier and mixed rather than sauce plopped on top. The bread was delicious. You must ask for butter for the two pieces of bread they give you. The beet salad, I really couldn’t find any beets or nuts for that matter. It was just OK. If you want basic Italian it’s OK. Also, screen shot your reservations because the gal couldn’t seem to find it on her end.

The vibes and service were outdone only by the fantastic food. I had the pasta, grilled artichokes, and flourless chocolate cake. One of the best meals in the area imo.
Also had a dedicated vegan menu that was complete and very tasty.

Excellent food, friendly service, lovely atmosphere, great wine and cocktails--what more could you ask for?

On top of the regular menu, there are specials. As a vegetarian, I was thrilled to see the separate vegan menu as well.

Easily one of the best restaurants in the Berkshires. Don't miss out on the marinara sauce.

Food was good but over-rated. I give everything else 5 stars.

Sorry folks, the food didn't WOW me. Cocktails were very nice. Portions are huge. But big doesn't mean great food. Lots of pasta options..Italian restaurant of course..but nothing stood out. The Calamari was just OK. I'm a Rhode Islander and "Federal Hill" does Calamari. The sauce was from a bottle or so it appeared. The tiny hot peppers don't compare to zesty pickled yellow pepper rings. The first sliced bread loaf was overcooked and crunchy like salad croutons. We all crunched on it after soaking it in olive oil. The second bread serving was soft and what we all enjoyed. I ordered the butternut ravioli and it was sweet tasting but didn't match the sauce. The mozzarella sticks had the same sauce as the Calamari.. nay nay on Federal Hill. The cabonara was really not good. Enough that my friend didn't request a take-home container.....trust, he always doggie bags. :-)

This is a very pretty, popular restaurant and I arrived with great expectations. Salad and artichoke appetizers were fine. But then the main dishes were served and neither were. cooked properly.
My husband had the namesake veal and the breading was mushy and the veal was tough. I had the chicken Marsala that consisted of a nice piece of chicken, lovely mushrooms, polenta and a sauce that was tasteless. No Marsala. Just a bland brown sauce. A very disappointing pricey meal.

First time going to Frankie’s Ristoranti and we loved it! The atmosphere was very cozy and welcoming. The food especially was delicious. It’s hard finding a restaurant that takes pride in the ingredients that go into their meals. Frankie’s definitely delivery’s on great quality.

My wife is Italian on both sides, and her mother & grandmothers (both from Italy) were outstanding Italian cooks (as is my wife!). We met a friend for dinner at Frankie's this past Friday (our first visit) and couldn't have been more pleased! We had the grilled artichokes, and homemade meatballs to start, followed by the linguine w/clams, linguine amatriciana, and special vegetable lasagna. Every single dish was outstanding and exuded that classic "homestyle Italian" we have come to love so well. Each plate of food highlighted the main ingredients without being "overwrought" the way some restaurants with heavy hands tend do; grilled artichokes were perfectly paired with fresh arugula & lemon vinegairette, while almonds provided welcome textural contrast; the meatballs were soft and scruptious just like nonna's, served on a bed of creamy ricotta; pasta in each dish was perfectly el dente; guanciale in the amatriciana ever-present w/out being overwhelming; baby clams were succulent and cooked perfectly; the vegetable lasagna was outrageously delicious, with spinach pasta sheets just present in the background as the pasta should be in a true lasagna. The portions were perfect, versus the huge portions (and prices) found in many restaurants today. Every staff member we encountered was pleasant and helpful. It's a very rare restaurant that encourage us to drive an hour each way to try again (...and again...and again): Frankie's is exactly that kind of place!

Living in New York where we have access to incredible Italian food, we were initially apprehensive to try Frankie’s - but they totally blew us away. The martinis, warm bread, osso buco and linguini in clam sauce were out of the world. The star of the show was for sure desert, a seasonal apple crème brule with vanilla gelato. Will absolutely be back!
