The sushi was delicious, but the price is not for the faint of heart! A nice treat, and the best quality fish I've had outside of Japan. Chef Mike worked diligently to deliver a great experience. I also liked the lack of pretentiousness in his shop. I imagine that if someone were to ask for a fork, he'd hardly bat an eye. The focus here is really on the food, and he checks that box.
The chef has outstanding artistry and creativity while using the best quality fish and ingredients. I have had omakase and kaseki at the best restaurants in Japan and in the US. This is one of the most memorable meals I can say I have ever had.
Everything we had was not only amazing but different. Most had layers if texture different from any sushi I've had, several with a crunch that made it truly different and better than anything to date. I highly reccomend Akame Nigiri and will be back, hopefully very soon.
