Working down the street from this place, if you're going to get a sandwich go to the deli at the street it's fantastic been cooking professionally since I was 14 years old I'm now 50 I have been management for the last 20 years am I professional expert opinion this isn't even mediocrity this is like the low end of what you call Italian the chef doesn't know the difference between broiling his bread and toasting his bread toasted means toasted on all sides write the bottom of the top they don't do that they messed that up on both sides when I said that I didn't think that it was cooked correctly he opened up my sandwich and touched my cooked food with his bare hands.p which is completely unacceptable and because he was offended I didn't get a refund I'm disputing it with the credit card company now I also had unpleasant experiences on the phone both times I understand that people are busy but there's no reason to be cuz people short or unresponsive. I lost my entire lunch break dealing with this mess of a situation. You want quality rustic Italian food that reminds you of Grandma's Sunday dinner go to Vinny's at night. I am Italian raised on Italian food I've also worked in Italian restaurants and know exactly what I should be getting this was a disappointment on a lot of levels. Everybody has a different level of experience and strength when it comes to food and skills in any sort of area of aptitude I'm not offended if a chef of a higher caliber comes into my restaurant and is upset with my level of skill or ability take it as a teaching and learning moment instead of getting upset. And never touch ready to eat food with your bare hands it's disgusting your hairy knuckles and my sandwich is just repulsive.

Classic! Where else can you get a bucket of spaghetti and meatballs? We got a table for six and everyone was happy with their food. Stuffed Mushrooms were delicious. Chicken parm was a favorite. Huge portions. The antipasti was great too.

Excellent service, always busy because it’s worth it. Food is always consistent and at a very reasonable price. Mario’s has been around for 50 years for a reason and it’s a staple in the town of Lexington because of its high quality and amazing prices

Mario's Italian Restaurant is a decent neighborhood Italian spot that covers the basics without truly standing out. Food, service, and atmosphere all sit in average territory — the dishes are familiar and satisfying but lack the authenticity and depth you'd hope for from a dedicated Italian restaurant. Service is functional and the space is comfortable but unremarkable. With more passion in the kitchen and a warmer, more Italian feel to the dining room, Mario's could become a real local gem.

I called to ask if they had wifi and the woman on the phone was rude I then was about to ask if she knows anywhere else that might have it but she was mean and rude and she cut me off mid sentence and said no we don't and hung up on me very quickly. So disappointing now they charge for the bread when it used to be free even olive garden and not your average joes have bread for free. The food is amazing just wish they had service to match every time I go there the waitress are mean and quick can't get a word in
