The Blue Shamrock was a mixed experience overall. The bar was packed with a younger crowd, and the energy was high—loud, busy, and very much a classic night-out spot. If you’re looking for a place with a lot going on, it definitely delivers in terms of atmosphere.
That said, the service interaction at the bar took away from the experience. As I was handing a drink to my friend, the bartender asked if I was going to tip. I wasn’t even done passing the drink over yet, and I don’t always reach for the tab immediately. Tipping is obviously standard, but calling it out in that moment felt unnecessary and unprofessional—almost like, grow up a bit. In a packed bar, patience and awareness go a long way.
Overall, The Blue Shamrock has the crowd and the energy, but smoother, more professional service would make a noticeable difference.

My friend got denied who was 21 and somehow they let three minor which were girls entered and the guy in the front looked liked they didn’t check their ID. I thought this place was 21+.

The bar shut off TouchTunes without any warning for a DJ, causing me to lose all my paid credits. There was no sign, no announcement, nothing. When I asked about it, I was told “it’s on the website,” which doesn’t help customers already in the bar. Cutting off a paid service without notifying patrons is unprofessional and needs to be addressed.

Was my favorite bar until Management night after night allowed “Tom the Fireman from Billerica” to hit on me n my friends night after night, my sister actually made report to Lowell PD against “Tom the fireman “ as he was known and LPD spoke w/establishment only to find him there every single time myself or friends went? It was obvious he spent much money there by time at establishment but as we told Mngmt he’s a liability and scary! Stay away !

Carla is the worst bartender I’ve ever had. Waited 10+ mins at the bar for my order. First time she was too busy talking about love island to take my order, then messed my order up and gave me the wrong item. The second time I waited for 8 minutes so I left her no tip, and she yelled at my 2 friends and I for not leaving a tip. She then said she was gonna purposely ignore us afterwards so we couldn’t place an order. Good service = good tip, simple. Keep in mind, there was probably 10 total patrons within the whole building. Worst experience, but am I surprised? No, If I could leave a lower review I would.

Ordered a long island ice tea and a Bud light. 21 bucks. Not worth the time anymore. Nothing but college stupid. And hungry for cash with no actual service. Place is over run and not enough staff to do what this place was once. If you go. Prepare yourself. Otherwise what else you got now a days
