Cavaleiro's is a delightful surprise deep in one of Lowell's neighborhoods. Our 1st time, we sat at the bar and enjoyed top quality, perfectly cooked, juicy steaks. Everything we had was excellent and the service was exceptional. If you prefer table seating, make a reservation.

Dined here a couple of times recently and found it to be overall pretty good. But a couple of things "bugged" me. First: The butter that is served with the {very good} rolls is just plain lousy. Poor taste. Really need a better quality butter product. Also, only offering one pasta with their dishes is in need of adding more choices. Many people would prefer angel hair or linguine or even fettuccine. More choices could be added without a high cost to the company. Also, the mashed potatoes taste strange. That might have something to do with that butter being used. Don't get me wrong, overall I like the place and the people. We will be back. I really hope they read this.

Just got home from a meal at Cavaleiro's. I was worried when I walked in the side entrance and smelled cigarette smoke. It was also super quiet. I wasn't sure what to expect. I received a great sangria with a lovely red wine flavor to start. Alex our server was friendly and knowledgeable. My table split the caprese salad to start which was solid. I got the steak on a stone for my entree. I was a little anxious when I figured out I was basically cooking my own steak but once Alex explained how to do it, I had a lot of fun slicing and cooking my steak. The steak was like butter! So good, so flavorful. The potatoes and beans were an excellent addition to the meal. Overall, I had a great dinner and will definitely be back. The prices are steakhouse pricing but again the steak was unbelievably good.

Absolutely amazing food & service from a family owned business. All I have to say is Steak on a Stone - you will thank me later. Love that this place is back & I can say hello to Manny & Mike when entering their establishment. If you have not been here make the trip & head on over.
I went with friends to this restaurant that none of us had been to before. They have a limited menu, but it didn't matter, because as a steak house, it's the steak that's important. Even though someone got that cod and someone else got the leg of lamb (which they both enjoyed), the rest of us savored the steak! The house steak was said to be good (even if the fries were only so-so}. But the Steak on a Stone? WOW! I had my reservations about having to cook my own steak *at the table*... I didn't imagine it would be as easy, fast, or absolutely delicious as it was! With the sauces to use, and a with the tasty side it came with, I am very pleased i tried something different. We also had room for desserts, which I'd also recommend.

I went with my boyfriend, the lemon drop Martini and it was delicious, the octopus very tasty, oyster and the steak on the rock was exquisite ?. Service was great. Then we moved to the bar and the bartender was very friendly and good customer service. Good music, good atmosphere. Nice place for couples. Some reviews say that it was expensive but I don't think it is, well you get what you pay for I think it's average for a steak house.

Had reservations for 6pm. Waited 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge we were there. When we were finally acknowledged, we were told by the waitress “we aren’t seating anyone for another hour (3 tables were full). I explained that we had a reservation and she said, “well talk to one of the owners then .” The owner never acknowledged us but looked our way several times. We walked out.
