Always glad to review a wonderful local biz--I had takeout from District 5 recently, and tried the grilled lemongrass pork banh mi, as well as the Vietnamese iced coffee--both were great! Every aspect of the banh mi in terms of flavor and texture hit the spot, and so did the Vietnamese iced coffee. Friendly service, and a welcomed addition here in town. Looking fwd to coming back and trying out other items!

Had the beef pho and It rocked. I have been spoiled with only having the best homemade pho from a friend. So I am honored and humbled when I find someone or someplace that makes something worthy of a homemade pho. This fit the bill and was worthy. Can't wait to visit again, highly recommend, Great job! I live around the block and there aren't many tempting food joints within walking distance from me. Here's what I love about District 5 -The food, obviously. I've visited twice and twice I've gotten the tofu banh mi. It's the first banh mi I've ever had so I have no reference for what might be good or otherwise, but the balance between fresh and savory on a crusty, but soft roll is what got me here two times in one week.The tofu itself wasn't terribly flavorful, but that mayo on the sandwich is everything.The service at the counter is friendly. They even dropped my food off at my table when I was waiting.I like that it's casual dining. Nobody waits on you, just grab a spot and eat. The eatery itself is confined, but spacious enough to be comfortable.It's affordable. $9 for a sandwich and then a couple bucks for a tip. The quality matches the price, but it doesn't feel like an expensive outing.Vegetarian options: There's a portion of the menu just for vegetarians.

Okay. Want to make a total delicious mess of crunchy pickled veg, mayo, flavorful chicken and pork, and crispy French bread WHILE getting caffeinated with a delicious coffee or tea in a cute little downtown cafe setting with friendly staff? Of course you do. This is a great place for it. Food was made with love, service was quick, and my sandwich was positively stuffed with fillings. I've had many a banh mi, easily my favorite sandwich of all time, and this one stacks right up. 10/10 sammie and coffee combo, will be back.
