First time visiting. We visit a lot of Mexican restaurants in and around the North Shore, and have our favorites. This is for sure a new favorite for us. The customer service at the location in Malden was excellent, our waitress was so polite, personable, and the right amount of attentive. The restaurant was spotless, I mean, SPOTLESS, including the restroom. The rest of the staff checked in, and the food was excellent.
Visited El Potro with friends recently. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Food is really good. I really liked our server however I think she got really busy because we had a couple of forgotten things like reorder drinks and our tortillas. Overall, we enjoyed our visit and will try again.
Got the el potro chimichanga with carne asada, that was absolutely delicious. The carne asada had its own flavor and it wasn’t a pile of mush like most places, everything tasted freshly prepared with quality meats and ingredients! My wife got the enchilada trio, the best mole I’ve had in a long time! The shredded beef was perfectly stewed as well and all of the sauces were well executed. I’m from Texas (not texmex), so I am a hard critic when it comes to Mexican cuisine....
