We stopped in for a late lunch while in the area. Our choices were incredible. We will definitely be back. Updated from previous review on 2026-01-04
I love this one! It's designed really well compared to the others, based on a lot of seating! I always get a golden latte and some type of tofu bowl. Always delicious!
An impressive gem in Lowell. This is the original location of what has now expanded to locations in Boston and Salem, among others. Well worth frequenting and the menu leaves you feeling better than when you arrived.

Not consistent at all. Found a hair in my harvest grain bowl today
My order was wicked wrong and over cooked. But the blond curly haired dude was so nice about it. I didn’t care. Thanks for being so dope 🙏

Customer since 2008 …. My bowl was half full . And the new containers suck. The absorb all your sauce . I was too hungry and in a rush or I would have said something. I supposed nothing stays the same. But. If you’re gonna charge 15$ for rice and carrots. You can’t be skimpy

Love their commitment to all organic sourcing. Very few restaurants offer that. Swami bowl is amazing.
Although I frequent Life Alive, I am concerned about a few things:
1. Because of the anti-nutrients in brown rice and quinoa, these grains have to be soaked before cooking. Otherwise, white rice is healthier than brown rice.
2. I only recently noticed that their steamers are all plastic. Its great that they are steaming the food but I am worried that they are being steamed in plasticware.
3. They can use compostable straws, compostable hot cups
4. It will be great if they offered gluten free and vegan quesadillas
Always a soul-replenishing experience! The friendly, helpful staff and quirky decor bring a smile to my face every time. The bathroom is a must-see for the same reason. Food is always so, so good. I had the Adventurer bowl, but they're seriously all delicious! I'm not a huge fan of the smoothies, mostly bc I have a sweet tooth. This time I did like the tropical sunrise smoothie with a turmeric shot, though. Elvis Alive is also good. Going back to this flagship Life Alive location made my week!

Staff was very helpful to finalize a bowl of quinoa, rice, and veggies for me with a little kim-chee that was oil free. With a tasty avocado/cilantro sauce they recommended. The raspberry lemon ginger ice tea was excellent also and sugar free. Great indoor dining and several tables outside in a cute historic area of Lowell. We stopped on way to Maine from CT and will add this place to our list next time we’re passing thru! Updated from previous review on 2025-08-27
