As a Salvadoran who’s lived in Lowell for the past three years, I’ve been craving authentic Central American food for a long time. The moment I tried the pupusas, it felt like I was back home in El Salvador, the flavors are so authentic, and the carne asada was absolutely amazing. If you haven't been here yet, go. They are located on Dutton Street on the first floor of the Textile Museum. They are also on the food delivery apps if you don't want to leave the house.
I didn't grow up with good Mexican / Central American food so I never really understood when people said Mexican was their favorite food. We didn't exactly have great Mexican food where I grew up. I was like "it's good and all, but I don't crave it or anything."
