Place looked great, but they kept me waiting and no one was talking to me or asking me what I needed. I will probably give it a second try.

Service is horrible.
Jollof rice is one of the common dishes in the African community but Sahel managed to mess it up.
I went to Sahel about a year ago for dinner with some friends, the food was mediocre. Today, I went to have dinner, I waited for 30mins for someone to ask if I want a drink, I order my drink and food (jollof rice and chicken) at the same time. I order suya for appetizer, the suya arrived after an hour waited 30mins, still no jollof rice and chicken. I had to take my food to go.

This is my worst experience so far in Restaurant. Except the African American who was welcoming very well, the other people are rude.

The funniest restaurant I visited, asking me if I would put egusi alongside with jollof rice. Which combination is that.

Yudith,
I really enjoyed myself. The service was amazing. The food was amazing. I was actually treating myself to some good old me time and I picked the perfect spot my server was really nice I appreciate her when asked for a suggestion she didn’t hesitate . Her suggestion was Jollof Rice and oxtails magnificent I didn’t think I could eat it all but I end up eating it all. Oh my goodness so delicious I was even dancing a little in my seat my meal was good.
She made the perfect suggestion for me. I can’t wait until next time!! I really enjoyed my meal and Service was really good don’t forget to tip???????

I happen to really like this restaurant, and keep hoping for the best. But lately I felt the need to do this review.
I buy frequently from Sahel, and the tldr is the food is inconsistent. I'm not sure exactly what's going on, but I would hope that a restaurant has it's recipes on lock.
Sometimes the food comes out good, and sometimes it's just bad, I don't know if the chef is winging the food, or the chefs are being replaced constantly, not really sure what's happening in the kitchen but it's affecting the quality and consistency, in addition, this also applies to your food packaging, yes, we notice.
It's one thing to have slight variations, it's a different thing to have something you order frequently just get switched up completely, the food I got last night was just terrible, and I didn't ask for a refund, but felt the need to drop this review instead.
It became evident to me there was lack of care taken to ensure the food was good. Everything wasn't prepared right. No taste, I've had really good food from your restaurant so I didn't expect this one bit. Same order can't taste different every time.
Also assorted meat isn't assorted at all. Same pieces of beef is not assorted meat.
I am really rooting for y'all, please get a good chef to cook the Nigerian food. Document, and iteratively refine your recipes to perfection. Consistency is key.

I had an amazing experience at this restaurant! The customer service was outstanding, and the food was excellent. Julie and Nodali were incredibly welcoming and made me feel right at home. I can't wait to come back to this classic African restaurant. Julie's hospitality was exceptional, and she even offered to arrange a ride for me. If I could, I'd give this place, especially Julie, 100 out of 10 stars. Thank you so much!T. Solange

The food was amazing. The server Yudith went above and beyond to ensure we had a good experience. She was very pleasant and very helpful in helping us decide on what to eat. Service was so good, we went back the following week.

We ordered from Sahel for an event at Harvard Business School and our guests were blown away. The Cameroonians among us were particularly impressed by the Ndole and grilled fish!
