i had wanted a lobster roll for the whole summer, but hadn't found the right place for one and i was worried the opportunity was swiftly lost as autumn approached. in a last minute attempt i searched lobster rolls near me and found this lil place with some pretty good reviews. we pulled up just before closing and asked for 2 hot butter rolls- they were closing so instead they gave us cold ones on the house with a bowl of clam chowder. the lobster was fresh and they didn't skimp on the portions and the clam chowder brought me back to my childhood with the perfect ratio of clam/potatoes to chowder. truthfully, i wouldn't write a review for any place but the genuine kindness they showed us went above and created a loyal customer out of a couple first timers.
Amazing service and such a cute small set up. Food is fresh and delicious!
I really had high hopes for the lobster roll after reading the reviews. My adult daughter and I each got the hot buttered lobster roll and took them home to eat - a torrential downpour wasn’t conducive to eating at the outdoor table, lol. Mine was ok - tons of big pieces of lobster but very chewy. Hers wasn’t edible at all. The lobster meat was dry and hard and tasted old. She’s totally turned off lobster rolls now and will be a long time before trying it again. We were very disappointed especially because they aren’t cheap!!
I was excited to see the buttered lobster roll, not the burger bun saturated in butter, lobster was dry, chewy and scarce, hubby got the crab cake, lotta cartilage, it was before closing, I’ll try 1 more time in the daytime, but disappointed tonite, however the staff was very pleasant! See u soon
Lobster rolls in New England are like cover bands; rarely worth your time or money. But this one is an exception; lots of lobster, great flavor, and treated with care. They have it served hot with butter or cold with I think mayo. Go for the hot. I definitely recommend you finding this out of the way food truck parked in an industrial area. Also, the little food store behind it is loaded with stuff to take home for later. You won’t be disappointed.
Off the beaten path, you will find a food truck that serves one of the best lobster rolls I've ever tasted. You have the option of hot or cold, both are tasty and loaded with lovely tender lobster. You can't go wrong either way. The clam chowder was also great. Truly a hidden gem, tucked away on Phoenix Ave in Lowell.
Had the buttered lobster roll, lots of fresh lobster cooked perfectly and they had the garlic butter option which was just the right complementary flavor. Probably the best lobster roll I’ve had! Also had the smash burger which traveled excellently, and I ate that on the road a little while later. A surf and turf combo that left me thrilled. Also picked up some soups to go from the Boston chowder company next door. They got a good symbiotic thing going on here, worth a visit for sure.
Went here yesterday with husband our son and our american bully and let me just say first of 10/10 customer service ,the owner i’m sssuming gave my dog a free hot dog i was just waiting in the car but it was soo sweet and also the food as well was 10/10 we got the smash burger and mac and cheese and it was sooooo delish this is def going to be a staple in our going out meals and super cute food truck and sitting area outside as well ❗️❗️?

Customer service was great as well!!
Best find! Not only do we love the cute little market with all the amazing goodies, but the food truck outside was incredible and the customer service was top-notch.
Top notch service with the Bestest HOT Buttered Lobster rolls …tru New England style…sweet fresh and overflowing. Do yourself a favor! This IS the place!!! 🦞🦞🦞🦞🦞🦞
Amazing food, extremely friendly and nice lady. As I was sitting waiting for my food, I could smell the aroma of the pulled pork being cooked - I had high expectations. I ordered a lobster salad roll, a pulled pork mac and cheese (the star of the show in my opinion), and a clam chowder. All were fantastic, no complaints. The lobster roll had a decent amount of meat and was fresh. The mac and cheese had the perfect consistency - cheesy and thick, not soupy like some mac and cheeses can be - it was also topped with a generous amount of BBQ pulled pork that was to die for. This place is highly underrated and deserves all the business it gets and more.
Really fresh and delicious and hits the spot. Very friendly service from the nice guy working the truck as well. No need to spend $40+ per roll at a fancy restaurant when JL has equally great quality for half the price.
