ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE. You will not get cuisine like this anywhere else. As someone who doesn't love seafood, I was really going out on a limb here, and I am a CHANGED MAN. There is no need to go into Boston with an exceptional place like this right here in Lynn.

One of the best meals you’ll have along with the best service possible. Everything was paired well with each other and all of the courses were unique and interesting. Cannot recommend enough!

We did the 14 tasting menu with the wine pairing. The service was EXCEPTIONAL, and even when a course wasn’t to our preferred texture or taste the inventiveness and unique ingredients always shone though. I would make this a destination if you’re visiting Boston. Up there with Michelin started restaurants we’ve been to in Milan

Honestly at a loss for words, but I’ll try lol. I dined solo as a celebration at the end of a beautiful stay-cation, and it was by far the best best best tasting menu experience I’ve ever had. I was transported with each dish to a new place, and my return-to-work fears fell away. I started to take photos of each course as they arrived, but by the third I didn’t care anymore - photos didn’t matter, it was the experience that mattered more. From the excellent drinks (including a special one for the final course of scotch, cocoa vermouth, chartreuse, and smoked (?) basil) to the amazing friendly and hospitable service to the incredible dishes as they came by one by one.. I’m going to sleep well tonight, and I’ll definitely be returning and will be recommending to all my foodie friends. Many thanks to all the staff for such a perfect evening.

… also is it weird that I want to frame the menu? ;)

Adventurous fare with friendly and attentive staff. Reservations are a must, be prepared to be pampered. The experience is rich, the food unique, and the cocktails tasty.

My partner and I love food. We have eaten at what many consider some of the world’s greatest restaurants. We are lucky to have this incredible gem in our city. The first time we ate at NNB, I openly wept. From the incredible food to the warm, welcoming service, we absolutely love it here.

I’ve eaten here twice, and both meals were probably the best and most memorable I’ve had in years. You will eat things you’ve never had before and they will dazzle you. The food is crafted with incredible attention to detail. The staff is friendly and unpretentious and the service is impeccable. Vibes are chill but fun. You can’t be a picky eater if you plan on eating here — you’ve gotta trust the chef and have a food adventure.
Nightshade is making the most interesting food in Boston, even though it’s in Lynn. And it’s well worth driving to Lynn for.

I have been to this restaurant 4 times now and with a different group each time. And every single person who I brought has loved it and asked to go back. The food is so good and always changing to keep regular customers on their feet and wanting to return. This is the best restaurant I have been to in Massachusetts and one of the best I have been to in all of the US. If you are thinking about going here totally do it.

The worst tasting menu experience of my life. Being blunt, the food is bad. It is acidic, over seasoned, and it doesn’t make sense. If you’re willing to spend this amount of money on a meal, choose virtually any other restaurant.

Since the restaurant lashes out at an honest review, claiming they had no record of me, I am uploading the receipt of my meal and the reservation under my name.

Further, I would like to note that while eating, we never raised our voice or made rude comments towards the staff. We did discuss, amongst ourselves, that we were not enjoying the food and the meal was dragging on and we were tired. Sitting at the bar, it is possible the staff heard our conversation, which is unfortunate that the comments were not positive, but I would not anticipate the expectation is customers to keep quiet amongst themselves about their experience. I can say we actively tried to be polite when asked about the food. I will also say the service at the restaurant was good and the staff was polite in person. With that said, the restaurant claiming victimhood and making disparaging statements in response to our own individual reviews is unfortunate.

Judging by this unprofessional behavior towards reviewers stating their opinion of having an unsatisfactory meal, I will leave it to any potential patrons as to whether they want to visit an establishment that exhibits such behavior.

We had a great time at Nighshade! We were impressed by how much flavor and artistic design goes into every single dish. Our top favorite dishes were the smoked raisin clay pot caramel striped bass and the spicy rock shrimp roll. It was our first experience in fine dining, and we were very happy. Compliments to the chef. Also, the service was honestly amazing. The servers all explain every dish and are extremely friendly. It is well worth the price for a special occasion, considering how unique and well put together every course is.

I’m genuinely at a loss. We ordered the 20-course menu and, apart from the fantastic service, everything fell flat. I have no idea how this place earned a James Beard nomination—it makes me question the award itself.

The restaurant shoots for hip fusion, but the execution just isn’t there. Every dish missed on flavor; for the first time at a tasting menu, I dreaded the next course. We actually bowed out around course 14 because staying felt like a waste of time.

Before chasing edgy presentations, the kitchen needs to nail the basics: make the food taste good. Honestly, I’d ask for a refund if that were an option.

Second visit to Nightshade, 14 courses did not disappoint!

Outstanding place! Must visit. I think I’ld plan my next visit to Boston just to attend this place again.
