They seem to sweeten everything unnecessarily. Excellent bread, which I buttered only to find it was honey butter - what an awful thing to do to nice chewy country loaf. Squid was so-so, not real crispy and then the aioli was sweetened! Mussels were very good, as was the pear salad, but I found the burger charred, overcooked and dry. And the chicken was oddly spiced and brined with sugar along with the salt, slightly sweet, which works for a pork chop but…. And I had their sweet and sour Negroni- not at all sour and so sweet I couldn’t finish it.
A friend invited me, first I asked him for a drink and according to the waiter, they no longer prepare it because the name is offensive, although I respect that, I asked him if I could at least bring the ingredients separately and he said no, I asked him if You can bring the manager and he doesn't bring him either, then it takes almost an hour to bring our food, there were only 3 tables that day??.I had high expectations for this place but I think I was wrong, I won't be back.

The best food I’ve ever had in a long time! The muscles was the best I’ve ever tried! I had the shrimp scamp, it was out of this world! And my husband had the pork chops which it was spectacular!You have to try this place! Besides the best food the atmosphere and service was top notch!

Best restaurant in Massachusetts! The Blue Ox did not disappoint. The chicken wings marinade in the chefs special sauce..DELICIOUS! And the Blue Ox makes their OWN BLEU CHEESE DRESSING, also DELICIOUS! Monday through Thursday, they have a dollar appetizer menu. The filet is better than any other steakhouse i have ever dined in. Grilled to perfection with a balsamic reduction served with homemade red bliss mashed potatoes and nice big crisp asparagus. The Blue Ox only serves the finest ingredients, and trust me, you taste the quality in every bite. It's definitely a must try.

Surprisingly good food. Bartender was professional and attentive. The only thing that needs to be addressed is the slick, slippery floor on the way to the restroom. I was wearing flats and still felt like I was skating on thin ice.
