I was craving pork belly so I stopped by. I didn't notice the pork belly hanging in the glass container with the heat but I did notice it behind it over the butcher's block. I thought it would be fresh and hot. I asked for a pound (A POUND FOR $18!) Got a little less but it came up to 18+ anyway...taxes?... As I was paying, I noticed the butcher pulling cold pieces of pork belly a different container near the butcher block. He didn't cut it from the fresh piece that was hanging which I understand you need to get rid of your food. But the pieces of pork was just hanging out it bucket away from heat. I wanted to leave but I would if felt rude plus I just paid. The pork was cold oily and squishy.
Also I had to basically beg for the green scallion oil and brown drippings sauce.
I felt like I was treated unfair. Didn't feel welcoming.
Definitely wouldn't go back for meats.
Their desserts looks good though.

Cute and clean bakery located on Pleasant St in Malden. We tried a few Chinese deserts which were reasonably priced and as good as any I've had at my favorite Chinatown bakeries. CCs are accepted for amounts of $10 or more

I would give zero stars if I could. This was by far the worst dining experience I’ve ever had.
I’m Cantonese and grew up eating authentic BBQ meats, so I know what they’re supposed to taste like. What they served here was nowhere close — not authentic, not fresh, and honestly inedible. The chicken tasted like it was several days old, even though they claimed everything was made that day. Every dish was overly salty and oily.
I also ordered half a BBQ duck to go, and when I got home, I discovered it was basically just neck and bones and the head— no breast, no legs, no wings. Completely misleading and unacceptable. I ended up throwing most of it away.
To make matters worse, eating the food gave me rashes on my face and neck, which only happens when I eat food that isn’t fresh.
Don’t be fooled by the good reviews — they are not reflective of the reality here. This was the worst BBQ meat I’ve ever had in the US (or anywhere else). Save yourself the disappointment.

Very light and fluffy cake without being overly sweet!!! I enjoy getting a cake here! Fresh fruit cake is the best I had. Very consistent, so far bought at least 5 times and they were each delicious and fresh!!!

Their egg tarts and buns are fresh and good. Char siu, roast duck are good.
Their sponge cake items like swiss rolls are often moldy if you look carefully (there are small black spots) - not recommended.

Excellent service and even better food
The staff here are friendly and the cakes are delicious.
Delicious homemade dishes and pastries.
I tried this Cantonese fast food spot many times, and while the prices are quite reasonable, I can’t recommend it for the food quality. If you’re visiting, you’re better off sticking to the desserts rather than the main dishes.
The food hygiene is seriously lacking. My char siu chicken still had feathers, which was really off-putting. The duck had noticeable glands, giving it a strong, unpleasant odor that was borderline nauseating. It’s clear that the ingredients are not properly cleaned or prepared with care.
For a place that serves such affordable meals, I wasn’t expecting fine dining, but basic cleanliness is non-negotiable. Unfortunately, I won’t be coming back for anything other than the desserts.

Ordered half a pound of duck and they gave me all bones and included the head. Why? Just to add more weight?
Great Chinese pastries and our go to place for Chinese cakes 😊

Listen up... this place makes legit Chinese BBQ roast duck —THE best way to prepare duck, which, by the way, is the tippy top of the poultry totem pole. It is incredibly juicy, tender, and flavorful. It is bliss in the form of food.
For the past two years, I've been getting it for Thanksgiving in place of turkey, which, by the way, is the dirt bottom of the poultry totem pole. Best decision ever. I'm going to be doing this for the rest of my life, and you should too —or just get it anytime because it's iNSaNe.
Also, the staff here is very kind, and they offer a tasty selection of bao and Asian pastries. For real though —get the duck. 1000% a gem.

Fresh and authentic buns. HK style milk tea is not bad at all.

I come here weekly to pick up Daan Tat (egg tart) or their Char Siu (BBQ pork) rice plate and it’s delicious every time! I love this spot, a true Malden staple.
