We arrived for the first time early last night, to an empty restaurant. We had made a reservation and we were seated. The menu isn't ambitious, which we took as a sign the food would be good. We ordered fish and chips and mussels to share. Limited beer choices. The next folks in were a family. The little boy sat down and asked his mom "Why is it so loud in here?" It was. You could hear the kitchen and bar noises. The meal prep area of this renovated building is white square tile and sounds bounce around and give you a diner feel. The food arrived. The fish and chips was previously frozen heavily coated fish, that oozed grease. The French fries were also previously frozen, light and over salted. The coleslaw was red cabbage yet bland. The mussels were so so. A few were sandy, and the white sauce was scant. The grilled bread was more like white bread in taste. We left without ordering a dessert. The food is better in close by Beverly Farms.

Early dinner. Ordered fish and chips and mussels to share for 2. Poor quality pre frozen fish and French fries. Mussels were in white sauce, some were not clean and there wasn't enough sauce. Grilled bread was odd, and the coke slaw was purple cabbage, but bland. Few beer choices. Kitchen/bar noise was significant.

35 Beach is worth a visit! In the old Beach Street location in Manchester-by-the-Sea. New owners completely remodeled inside, and it is fresh and welcoming. Food and service are excellent! I had not realized they served breakfast too, until yesterday when we stopped in - was excellent and happy to have such a nice breakfast spot back on Cape Ann...

This might be my new favorite spot. To start, the actual space is beautiful and peaceful and full of sunlight. The waitstaff are friendly and welcoming, and the service has been uniformly excellent every time we have visited. Whoever makes the food clearly takes pride in what they do; every dish we have ordered has been prepared and plated by a perfectionist. For me, the best thing on the brunch menu is the simple but exceptionally well-executed chicken sandwich. (I feel like my gastronomic credibility is going to get called into question by gushing over a chicken sandwich, but seriously, this thing is good.) In fact, the chicken sandwich kind of epitomizes the food here overall: deceptively simple dishes elevated by meticulous execution. The quality of the food is the best reason to come here, but the ambiance is a close second.

We loved our time at 35 Beach. We were greeted and seated by the owner, and had a table on the porch which is really nice. We had great crab cakes to start and each had a different meal. All enjoyed ours, and the person who ordered the salmon said it was fantastic. I had the pasta and bolognese, tasty. My husband had the chicken Milanese and said it was delicious. The last person also enjoyed their steak frites special. We had dessert but it was just ok- kind of dry. Al's in all a great dinner and evening.

Our drinks and dinners were all delicious, service very attentive and it's a lovely place. It was very quiet on the Friday night we went, which is a mystery to me because it's a great restaurant. I had the pasta with a yummy bolognese and my companions both had chicken milanese, which they thought was even better than it is at a Gloucester restaurant where they order it regularly. Highly recommend.

Very frustrating as we made proper reservations and everything and I understand restaurants close earlier to save money during the 'off' season but if you accept a 7:20 reservation why is the entire staff at the door by 7????? Super awkward as the cooks and waiters were getting into their cars as we arrived... Oh were so sorry we didn't check the online blah blah Just a let down and I wouldn't do that to my guests. Serious question not an insult.

Food was cooked to perfection and drinks were tasty. Only complaint is price and also f you sit at the bar the owner sits behind u and interupts in your conversations to tell you she's the owner and to upsell wine she thinks is good. Alcohol breath not to mention curb side appeal and made our conversations awkward and limited. Also her partner was next to her the entire time drinking and gossiping.Probably sit besides the bar it will be fine. Little pricey $22 burger...

Great vibe at this place in Manchester, MA. Staff is very attentive. Chef is outstanding. Great bartenders and creative cocktails. Can't ask for much more. Hidden gem on the north shore.

Ambience was nice & food was good but overpriced for what is was. I think its definitely missing something, especially following a restaurant that had a pretty diverse menu. May try it for brunch or lunch at some point

Sat at bar, good service and food was excellent. Felt though there was too much light from above. Also someone sat along the windows with computer which made conversation somewhat awkward for my group. Look forward to going there again to have dinner.

We had a lovely lunch on a rainy Saturday. The restaurant is beautifully decorated- not your usual lunch place look- quite elegant. Our food was delicious, enjoyed with a watermelon mocktail. Too full for a dessert. Thank you 35 Beach ! You are a welcomed addition to town.

Always have an incredible experience at 35 Beach! They did a beautiful job renovating the space. I’ve had multiple items on the menu and haven’t been disappointed yet! The burger is the best I’ve had in the area. Chicken Milanese and bolognese are also amazing. Bartender is so friendly and makes the most delicious craft cocktails. Definitely recommend!

I do not often post restaurant reviews, but I was so impressed by 35 Beach, that I really want to share how wonderful this place is. The food was prepared by a chef who clearly has a love of his craft. We ordered the fried smelts and it immediately took me back to southern Italy. Just so crunchy, yet light without that greasy texture. What is best you can taste the fish, so mild and delicious. I cannot say enough about the fresh mussels, arancini and delightful salads. We sampled some of the wines that were recommended and were pleasantly surprised by the selection. The staff are professional and friendly and you cannot go wrong with the location and lovely atmosphere. I am absolutely going to return to 35 Beach and have already recommended to friends.
