We have dined here previously but this will be our last time . I'm aware food costs have increased , but the food quality and quantity has suffered too . We came in for lunch yesterday. It was the three of us . My mother got a Reuben . She did not want fries so she had to pay a $2 up charge for Caesar salad . The size of the sandwich was so small in comparison to prior times when we have dined prior to. My girlfriend got a chicken caprese pesto sandwich and ordered sweet potato fries also $2 up charge . She thought the sandwich was ok but the pesto sauce was just not appetizing but she ate it because she was hungry . I got steak tips with a side Caesar and side sweet potato that's a $4 upcharge . The tips were unseasoned and very bland . Nothing special . No drinks . Total bill with tip $91 . Carla's is just not worth it . With all its upcharges , small portions and tasteless food . If you are going to charge these prices , increase the portions and get a better chef .

We were visiting Manchester by the sea and went to this restaurant for our first dinner, this did not disappoint whatsoever! First of all, the menu was amazing and had an exceptional amount of options. The ambiance was perfect with low music and lighting, great for families and couples on date nights! Service was pretty decent... we had a waitress who was training another one which was nice to see the work progress, overall they remembered everything and were very professional, kind, and knowledgeable.

The local "Cheers" vibe restaurant/bar where you'll always see a friendly face and the bartender knows your name. So welcoming! Food is basic pub fare, but pretty consistent. I recommend the street tacos, wings, all the salads, quesadillas, flatbreads, onion soup and the turkey club!

Stopped by for a quick lunch back in October '23. The staff (especially the head bartender) were on top of everything. Very fast and friendly service and great food and drinks. Definitely a must-do if you ever visit this town.

First of all, the restaurant has a cozy very lovely environment. The place has a warm feeling, it's very clean and it just feels like home. The service was great. Hannah was the nicest lady we met on our trip to Massachusetts. She was very servicios, very attentive, she knew her way around the menu and made really good recommendations regarding our likes and cravings. The food was just perfect. More than what we really hoped for, more than what we expected; it really blew us away. The meatloaf with broccolini and mashed potatoes was outstanding. The wings, the yucas, even the wine selection was great. An amazing place, a hidden gem in Manchester-by-the-sea, a definite place to return to; we will surely be back.

For the most part, awful food. Service ok. Ambiance lacking, dark and cave-like, awkwardly arrange. TV on always if you like sports.

Stopped at Calas just before heading back to Boston and I honestly think this was one of the best Clam chowders I've had in my life. Great service as well!

Do not eat here. If I could give zero stars I would. The manager is absolutely horrendous. She took my ID when I wasn't ordering an alcoholic beverage. I did not get to order my drink and she started yelling at me and my boyfriend about some ABC and this manager kept repeating ABC and didn’t even know the correct acronym was “ABCC”. It was embarrassing to be yelled at by the manager if we know our ABCs in front of everyone in the restaurant. The manager is unprofessional and rude to new guests. The manager here does not know the correct forms of ID and clearly did not listen to the ABCC when they visited.

TLDR: despicable service/ managementHad to leave because the “manager” was yelling at me in the middle of the restaurant for handing her a passport as identification. I don’t know how you can work in service and lose you cool to the point where you’re yelling at and degrading your customers. I’m 25, it was 3pm, I didn’t even order a drink I was ID because I sat down. Yes without a doubt a United States passport is a valid form of identification within the United States, your manager is dumb and should get fired. So no I didn’t try the food, I don’t plan to and I seriously wouldn’t recommend coming here.

The beginning of our trip to the East Coast and this was our first meal on arrival. We ordered the Blackened Salmon BLT with fries and it was delicious! They serve a large portion of salmon, which was cooked perfectly, with a huge (too much but hard to stop eating) amount of fries. The food came out quickly and we enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant. Manchester-By-The-Sea is quaint and representative of how we pictured an East Coast town on the water would be. Loved it!
