Lordy, the clams! THE CLAMS!! I only recently moved to the Boston area; lo and behold, turns out I live around the corner from the CLAM HIGHWAY. Ted Reinstein from Chronicle said A&D clams were his favorite, so I showed up not knowing what to expect, and man oh man! Clam sandwich! It's so good! And the interior and design of the place is really cute while still feeling New England, too!

Exactly what you'd expect from a "Clam Box" only better. None of the "lobster buoy" pastiche; instead, a bright clean shop with just a hint of beachiness. The menu is extensive, and the prices reasonable, especially given the very generous portions. The staff is energetic and engaging. Check them out!

My wife and are from Texas. On a recent trip to Marblehead, Ma we found A&D Clam Box. Friendly service from the owner. Some of the freshest and most delicious seafood we have ever had. Make a visit, you won’t be sorry.

We are from out of state and so glad we came here for the lobster roll and fried clams. THE BEST!! It was our third lobster roll in 2 days while in Boston and this was hands down the best tasting and the best price. Very friendly service and the place, and the toilet, incredibly clean. Keep it up. This place makes the best fried clams I’ve ever had. I’m 53, from Mass, and have loved clams all my life—and still I tell you, these are the best.
The bellies are full of subtle flavor. The ratio of meat to breading is perfect—not too much hard, overcooked, crunchy breading. The home-made tartar sauce complements the clam, rather than overwhelming it. Fried and served to order—no sitting under a heat lamp.
Beautiful, simple environment was all spotlessly clean. Service was direct and friendly—and the chef/owner greeted me personally.
Seriously—A&D’s Clam Box is worth the airfare to get here and enjoy it.

If more people found this place, it would be lined up down the block. Great prices. Great options. The food was phenomenal. We got the lobster roll and scallop tacos, as well as some of the chowder. This is some of the best chowder in the area by far. If you’re driving through, you gotta stop. The tacos were great, scallops are huge. The lobster roll is great, put together perfectly. Very clean restaurant and the guys working were super nice and welcoming. Watch your feet in the bathroom, don’t let the croc get you ??

As always, the flaky haddock sandwich topped with lettuce, tomato and a hefty serving of tartar sauce hit our cravings for fresh tasting seafood. And the fries, always a hot treat.

Ordered the lobster roll. It hit the spot! I really just was focused on trying their lobster roll when I came in, but oddly enough I need to mention how oddly delicious their fries were too. I'm not too sure what they do to them. They just look like fries, but they're really good - crispy and hot.
